Hey guys, this may have been talked about before, but I cant seem to find the answer I am looking for. So, l am anticipating my drawers from Forrest this week, and am wondering what you did to season them? It looks like some have used the 84% bovedas to season, and some wipe them, altho I am not sure I am a big fan of that. So, if you used bovedas, how many did you use? I have a 28 ct Edgestar and 5 drawers coming for them. How long did it take for you? I will take all the cigars out, and beads, and put them in a cooler or tupperdor of some sort. Any info appreciated. Thanks

Ive bought trays/drawers from forest twice...

both times I simply gave them a wipe down with DW... then threw them in the wineador/cabinet.. along with a bunch of 65 bovedas and KL... gave it a couple of days... and then filled them up with cigars (once 65 RH was obtained inside)..

on both occasions it was just a matter of giving the KL a couple of extra sprays each day to bring the RH up a little bit.. and I was done..

I think the wineador (pretty small.. only a 12 bottle) took 3 days to get to 65 RH... I had about 1/2 lb of KL in there.. and 4 bovedas I think... the cabinet took 4 IIRC.. mostly because I took it slow/easy and only applied a couple of sprays in the morning.. and then would check it again in the evening and give it a couple of more light squirts.. When I first set up the cabinet I started with about 1lb of KL.. and about a dozen bovedas...

Really a simple process though... just take it slow/easy and you'll be fine...

After finish-sanding each drawer, I wiped them down with a wet cloth both to remove the excess sawdust and to get them a little wet. Then I bought a 4-pk of shallow disposable tupperware, poured some distilled water in each one, placed one in each drawer, and closed the door for five days. After five days I took out the tupperware and put in completely dry KL. Waited another two days, and it was at 64% and holding steady.

Mine come in tomorrow, I think i'm gonna wipe em down with DW since even if they do warp a lil they are just drawers and not a seal. I plan on putting 4 sandwich tupperware containers each with a wet sponge in each drawer(4), and a bowl of DW on the shelf but should i also put in my 2 lbs of hearfelt beads as well or should i wait on beads till it hits a certain RH? I also have 4 hearfelt bead tubes that I am keeping in each drawer and those will be put in with the sticks since they are in the ziplocks with the cigars.

I'd wait until the drawers are fully seasoned and the rh is hanging in the mid 70's, then take the containers/sponges out and put the dry beads in. The beads will simultaneously remove the excess moisture to the desired rh, and charge themselves in the process. If you put them in during the seasoning process, they'll be overly saturated and unable to bring the rh back down to the desired level once the drawers are saturated and seasoned.

What date did you order yours? I ordered mine on 10/17 & I was hoping to see them soon too!
Kevin, ordered mine the 10/15. Was told it would be about 5 weeks or so. Spoke with him last week, and said they'd go out. Hopefully soon.
