I've only paid for 3 of the lighters and 1 of the cutters. The rest were either gifts, finds at me sons work ( used sports equip-left in golf bags) or came from events. I just didn't realize how much it was.

Nice collection!

I saying to a friend of mine just a few days ago that I wondered how people end up with so many accessories for cigars. After all, you can only cut one at a time, right?

He then asked what I had and I realized that I already have accumulated two guillotine cutters, two punches, a butane torch, and two travel cases. Considering I just really decided to get into this in September...

I consider myself more a purger than a hoarder....and still, I'd estimate that between my wife and I, we have over two dozen lighters, over a dozen cutters, 9 or 10 humidors/coolers and 7 or 8 traveldors.

See, that's for now. But then you're gonna want a really good lighter and cutter set for traveling, and eventually one for keeping in the car "just in case"... then maybe one in the van too. Then there's the herf-a-dors. You gotta have a little 5ct to keep in the car. Then you'll want a 10ct for when you hang out with the brother-in-law and might want a selection to choose from... then you'll need the 15ct for taking to gatherings, and the 30ct for going to parties...

Dude, why are some of us brothers so much alike? Whatever happened to "Autonomy" and "Free Will"?

I agree with your comment whole-heartedly.

My wife went through my stuff to organize it for me. She found several lighters, punches, and cutters. She asked me why did I have so much stuff? I told her it is all important to me and collect them for remember the the time spent with good friends and good cigars. I say be the hunter and gather that we was meant to be.

Nice spread. I can relate to what others have said as I have gotten carried away with this part of the hobby. I have about 30 lighters (7 xikars, 6 lotus, 2 porsche, 2 ronson, a AB burner...) and 9 cutters (5 Xikars, 2 cuban crafters perfect cutters, 1 palio, 1 Havana blade cutter) and yet I cant stop looking/buying lighters and cutters.

So it's definitely not a need thing but I love pursuing the next accessory.

100% Agree! Every expensive lighter I have ever owned is in the trash, but my $9 Guinness lighter has been with me for 10-years.

This has not been the case for me. Both my pricier and less expensive lighters work well. I use Vector butane (it makes a difference as I switched to xikar fuel for 6 months and several lighters had performance issues) and if the fuel isn't the problem (it often is), sometimes the issue is that a lighters max setting is set too low at the factory so I just open up the lighters and tweak them so I have higher max setting.

This is why every good and law abiding BoTL member needs at least one "cigar-shit-and-clutter-drawer" somewhere in the house.

Random RP lighter from the local that one night you didnt realize they had an event and got for free?..... In the drawer
That cutter thats rated no. 1 on amazon under "cigar acc." that you got from your co-worker that has no idea what a cigar looks like?.... In the drawer
That one time you went to a liga event wanting JD you give you a liga hat and you got and acid on instead?..... In the drawer

And so on.... fills quick but keeps everything in one place
