This is not pointed at anyone but I thought it might help to address it. I have been noticing people pointing out others in threads lately and or complaining about their behavior either on this board or another.

I really think issues should be addressed via PM with people before they are called out on a open thread. If it can't be worked out with a person you can always PM a mod or choose to ignore them.

When you make a snap judgement you never know the whole story until you have discussed it with the other person and a lot of us don't really care to see people arguing in threads. This is just my opinion and I think things should be kept as civil as possible.

This board is getting huge and I thought I'd give some of the newer guys a heads up. Feel free to discuss and if this makes you angry just shoot me a PM. ;)

As Always,

Rex I think this is a crap post and it pisses me off!!

Here's why

1. I don't see your nipple anywhere in your OP

2. WWJD. That's "What Would Javajunkie Do". For all newer members take notes!!

3. I'm totally kidding and agree with you completely. It's the season and although stress and depression is on the rise this part of the year. People just need to relax and smoke a cigar. Remembering this is a place of fun learning and brotherhood.

Lol. Sometimes people should be called out IMO. Noobs get shunned pretty quickly but I think a lot of FOGs get free passes for being unbrotherly. I'm guilty of being an ahole every now and then and have no problems being called out. Its the entitlement aspect that bothers me. Not pointing any fingers of course:)

I agree with this. I've had. Rather serious disagreement with someone on here for this very thing. I don't agree with calling ppl out like that either. We all have our differences but no need to make ppl feel like shit or anything along those lines. We are here to enjoy ourselves.

Hosh nipple pls and thank you.

Good advice here: If you see anything you feel is inappropriate, please use the 'report post' icon near the bottom left corner of the post to alert one of the mods/admins. We'll take care of it quickfast . Also if you have an issue, use a PM. Flamming tends to burn the pointing finger.

........ a lot of us don't really care to see people arguing in threads. .....
I agree with the OP. But, I gotta admit that I'm not in the group that doesn't care to watch the flame wars. I really get a perverse kick out of them, myself. Be civil! But, if you can't, then go ahead and ratchet it up quick for our enjoyment.

Read more - post less. Two tricks that I use to try to stay clear of the silliness:
1. I never hit the "Post" button when I'm pissed. I always type my reply and walk away for a bit - sometimes a minute, sometimes 10 -- but EVERY single time, I've edited my reply for civility and/or clarity.
2. Another forum used to have a button on threads that said "Return to Forum Without Posting" that took you out of the thread. When I'm biting a hole through my tongue, I'll sometimes post "Return to Forum Without Posting" ....as if I were hitting that button....and that usually soothes me just enough to prevent really stupid words from coming out of my fingertips.

How a about a place holder/ pause after hitting the "post" button that says "Are you SURE you want to post this?"

It might make someone think twice?

This forum is about community - not unruly discourse IMO.

I come here because it ISN'T like those forums where people piss and moan or say things in public that defeats the purpose of community and camaraderie.

Haha! That would be awesome. My texting app has a 5 second delay so you can cancel it and I've used it a couple times. It made me feel much better afterwards.
