I just got an email this morning from John Brooke, the DE head of PR, and he said expect these to start appearing in retailers in the next 2-weeks. Can't wait, I already have what I think will be a perfect beer pairing with it.
I've been waiting to try these, how are some of you so special thT you get to try them early? Spill the details.
For the AZbotl, Lee at Don's on Central/Camelback seems to be under the impression that he will have them at the Drew Estate event there on the 13th.

They told me that 4-weeks ago and 4 weeks before that I heard the same thing. DE is getting like Delta Airlines just tell them their flight is delayed 20-minutes, then 30 minutes later they get on the PA and say just another 20-minutes, then 40 minutes later they say it will just be another 20 minutes, etc., etc., etc. These things better be exceptional because the Leccia Black has been a great cigar with a helluva lot less drama! Rant ended.

I'm going to be quite interested to see how folks react after smoking the KFC. The fire-cured thing really turns me off, and while I love most of the DE products, this is one I don't care about. I'm guessing when everyone has had a chance to smoke it, the reactions will be quite polarizing - folks are either gonna love it, or hate it. I doubt there will be much inbetween.
Have you had the chance to try a White or Black yet?

That's the beauty of cigars, there is something for everyone. I smoked a cigar with fire cured tobacco over a year and a half ago and it wasn't my cup of tea. It was early on in the experimental phase of fire cured tobacco in cigars and the guy who gave it to me didn't feel it was "there" yet either.
I think drew estate took the time to get the product where they feel it needs to be before releasing it and it will definitely be a "love or hate" type of cigar, talk of the black/white cigar is pretty irrelevant to this thread as this is a cigar that is not based on that.
I still think it is pretty funny that E made this graphic, of which I didn't know about until a few months L8A!
The release party is going on right now at corona in Orlando. My boy is there right now. I was suppose to go but had to cough up $400 to fix my car and that was my cigar money.
