So how do you deal with the itchy throat cough from cigars?

I use Max Strength Mucinex that works for about 8 hrs

Although I've been only smoking 1- 4 cigars a day for less than 8 months I get nervous about the possible C word coming on in my throat.
Thanks

I don't have that problem but I wouldn't hesitate to take some time off if you're concerned about it. If you're treating yourself with over the counter meds or treatments just so you can smoke you might want to reevaluate how much you want to take part in this hobby.

Are you inhaling? If so don't. I never get a cough from smoking cigars. If you're not drinking something that might help as well.

I usually don't feel anything in my throat... Unless I take some smoke to deep. Maybe try to keep the smoke just in your mouth...

I try to keep the smoke in only my mouth area but I must be smoking to deeply and fast to cause this maybe and think and 5 sticks a day doesn't help.
Thanks

1-4 cigars a day in only eight months? Quality, not quantity! And yes, you're inhaling a bit which is counter-productive to cigar smoking. My great-grandfather smoked all day long for some eighty years and didn't get cancer. Good genes I suppose, but damn.

There might be something for you to talk with your Doctor about if you get this sensation a lot. Some people just have a naturally sensitive lining and like others are saying...you might be inhaling more than you think. Try a milder cigar and see what happens as you might be drawing on a stick that is a bit more full bodied.

Yeah I would think you are inhaling just slightly to far which is causing an itch. I dunno how people find the time for upwards of 4 a day.
