I actually had more than that in there...

The 12 bottle originally came with 3 wire shelves.. designed to hold 3x bottles of wine on each shelf.. with 3 additional bottles stored on the bottom, below the wire racks..

I pulled the wire.. and put in wood shelves..

then had Forest build me 3 custom trays that fit snugly on each shelf.. (maximizing use of the space.. has them cut to 1/4" shorter, narrower, and less deep than the surface area of the shelf)....

I then put in one of the $9.00 cedar trays you can buy off of ebay in the bottom... and still had space for a couple of boxes as well...

Overall I could fit about 250 sticks in there (mostly robustos and coronas..

Rupe now owns the wineador.. I am assuming he has kept the shelves and trays.. He might be able to post up a pic of it to help you get a visual..

When I built the cabinet.. I needed 3 more trays (much larger than what the wineador had in it).. Ive got 3 flat shelves in the cabinet that I use for box storage.. and a large space at the bottom that gets used for box storage.. I also have 3 angled display shelves that I use for singles.. I had Forest build me 3 trays, each 2 dividers (total of 9 spaces for organization purposes..).. that are about 2 1/2 feet long, 10" deep, and 2 1/2" tall.. that fit snugly on the shelves...

Cool, I think I'm about to go pick this up.... http://www.vinotemp.com/View.aspx/2881/16-Bottle-Thermoelectric-Wine-Cooler

It's 16-bottle, so if you were able to keep 250 in your 12-bottle, wow, this should be a pretty decent starter set-up.

actually these are on sale at bb if you are going to buy brand new, and cheaper than the 16bottle you listed

Youve got to play some serious tetris... but you'd be surprised how much you can fit into one...

I was able to squeeze 5 boxes on the bottom (100 sticks).. plus filled the small tray with singles (another 25 sticks or so)..

and was able to put another 50 sticks or so in each of the custom trays that Forest built for me..

When I had 250 or so in there.. it was tight.. but I still had a little bit of room in there and could have squeezed a few more if I had to..

I tend to smoke smaller cigars though.. Robustos and coronas are the most common... very few things any larger than that..

If you are a toro/churchill kinda guy.. you are probably looking at a much lower count..

I got my NewAir AW-281e at bestbuy.com. It was $213.23 after tax with free shipping. Then I ordered the 4 drawer/2 shelf combo at wineadors.com . The shelves should be here soon and I will have it all ready to post pics probably after Christmas. It may not have been as cheap as some places, but it was new and cheaper than most. Not sure if they price is still the same at Best Buy, but I got it a few weeks ago.

What is the wait time these days with Forest?

Was reading a thread recently where it appeared that in the beginning, few years back, it was 3 weeks for some people...but appears to be months now that the poularity as grown.

Does that sound right? Wait-time on drawers being a few months-ish?

Not a thread jack but rather a question. Should the winedor be thermoelectric? Let me know thanks.
If you are going to use its cooling system, then yes. condenser units suck out the humidity so you want to avoid those if possible (although some people have used them, so it can be done if you have to)

On top of any sales, Best Buy is still running 20% off all small appliances. (Including wine coolers)
Check the storage section for my thread on how to maximize this. (I fully detail my purchase in the OP)

If you want to buy new, this is the time to do it and those discounts can't be beat!
Don't forget, that code is good on any wine cooler, and Forrest will make drawers for any unit not just what's on his site.
Also, if you don't mind stepping up to the 28 bottle New Air 280, lilninjabuddy just posted in the cigar deals thread with a code today only that will get you the pre-made cooler, shelves, and free shipping for about $350. This is the only complete system I know of, comes pre-built and you won't be waiting in the queue for the custom shelves.

This place really IS as dangerous as they say.

I was warned of this indirectly in many different threads.

I came on here today completely happy with my tupperdore for now and thanks to this one thread where I was simply trying to help answer a question, I have now made solid plans to go pick my new wine cooler up after work this Friday.

Seriously guys, wtf? LOL

Today's the day. Im heading out in about an hour to meet the person from CL to get a 16 bottle Vinotemp.

She said its a couple years old, that they used it for only 6 months, for wine, and its been sitting ever since...I assume unplugged.

Is there any questions I should ask, any last minute tips you guys have of anything to watch out for?

As of now I just plan to shine the inside with the flashlight and see if there's anything odd that stands out.

I'd check the inside and the seal on the door to make sure both are in good condition. Also wouldn't hurt to turn it on and set it to the lowest temp to make sure it cools. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to make sure it works as I'm assuming you're going to use it for cooling as well in AZ.

for those who have something like this, what's the point of shelling all that money for drawers? I have never understood unless it is just for looks.
