for those who have something like this, what's the point of shelling all that money for drawers? I have never understood unless it is just for looks.
Looks were a big part of it for me. Also I feel it gives more room for storing sticks not in boxes and a really great way to organize them with the drawers and dividers. The drawers also protect the sticks from sunlight, not saying that other ways don't just an added bonus. I wanted a nice home for my collection and this was the route that I felt was best suited for me. A nice combination of looks and functionality IMHO.

Just seems like a great deal of money for that. You could almost buy two coolers for the price if you didn't get the drawers.

What do you guys think the best way to clean for my circumstance. Baking soda? Just newspaper?

It's gently used, few yrs old. I don't notice an over powering plastic smell like something out of the box, but then again, it was used for wine, has never been cleaned, and I kind of barely smell very faint hint of plastic, point being I need to do something, but what?

I'd check the inside and the seal on the door to make sure both are in good condition. Also wouldn't hurt to turn it on and set it to the lowest temp to make sure it cools. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to make sure it works as I'm assuming you're going to use it for cooling as well in AZ.
Thanks for the advice, I followed this when I got there.

...and yes, need it big time here in AZ. I figure its perfect timing. By the time I get the drawers ordered prob next month, Im thinking they will be delivered few months lster right when its starting to warm up again here.

Help.

So I read up as much as I could.

Got KL...Exquisicat. So this stuff just automatically sets at 65%? Or does it depend on amount I use?

Have tupperware for KL on bottom and a fish media bag from PetSmart for placing elsewhere if need be.

Any tips?

Good grief, I set KL over night and today the RH was at 88.

I'm guessing I should be able to sit the KL out in the open and let it dry out some.

Doing trial and error.

lol. Wow! This thread blew up! Awesome. Well I do have an update. I was on a severe budget and picked up a new Candor 8 bottle wineador. I went to a local wood store and picked up some 1/4 in spanish cedar and started hot glueing shelves. No smell and it worked out good. I seasoned the winador for 2 days and the calibrated Hygro shows 70%. I put in a 4oz Zykar humidifier gel in the bottom. So far so good.
