That, sir, is what defines what it means to be a man, father and grandfather. I am honored that you chose this place to be the first place you chose to speak about it. That little girl is very lucky to have a father like you. You very well may be her grandfather but you serve a dual role and that is also father which holds quite a different meaning. Two boys, 24 and 30. It never crossed my mind to have a celebratory smoke on their birthdays, but compliments of a friend, I did have a cheap cigar the day of my first son's birth. I do have a 6yr old granddaughter that I have adopted. I don't have a cigar on her birthday either, but have had one to celebrate another date pertaining to her. Soon after her birth, she ended up a ward of the court. She was placed in a less-than-desirable environment, and I was pretty much the only family member in a position to address it. So at almost 50, and single, I asked the court to place her with me. A situation soon arose with her placement, and to my surprise, I got a call from children's services saying the judge was pulling her, and he ordered that she was to be delivered to me. So while her birthday is a special date, as well as the date of the adoption (that took almost 2yrs in court), the anniversary of the day they handed my 3mo. old granddaughter to me is the one I cherish and celebrate (privately). I guess you guys are the first ones I've ever told this to.
That takes a real man! Cheers to you sir! And with that i will be dedicating tonights smoke to you and yours! My oldest was 7 months when get mom and i met. Her real dad is in prison. So I'm all she knows. Its not easy raising a child that's not your own. Its harder. But when you decide to take on that responsibility, that decision alone shows you are a real man. And a good one.Two boys, 24 and 30. It never crossed my mind to have a celebratory smoke on their birthdays, but compliments of a friend, I did have a cheap cigar the day of my first son's birth. Nearly 5 year old son, who lives to fuck with my shit. And yes, he is Japanese, albeit 1/8th. Grandma wanted to make sure he knew...
