So I collect lawnboys. Not the 4 cycle crap but the old 2 cycle lawnboys. Have rebuilt a few. And have a couple old ones I plan to restore someday.

A couple of my favorites are an old 1950s Iron Horse, 1964 D series and a 1970 D seies.

Here is a few pics.

So what mower do you like the most. Which one can cut the lawn like you see on a baseball field.

I love the thread

"Life's journey is not to arrive in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, "Shouting....Holy Shit....what a ride!"

Well u have to sharpen the blade ecologically to get the cut u desire.

Honestly the best cut I've ever gotten was from the old time rotary mowers that was razor sharp.

One like this.

I opened this thread. Yardgar is all that came to mind. Someone hand me a perdomo fresco and fill the tank. Could walk around all day.

Is ur old 2 cycle stalling out? Carb is fine and it's still stalling? It's probably ur exhaust ports. Poor 2 cycle oil mixed with crappy gas with leave carbon build up in ur exhaust ports.

Before:

And after cleaning with Seaford and 3/8s dowel.

Here is an old Sensation. A clone of the old bobcat mowers or so I understand. The deck is cast aluminum. Picked it up for and extra 10 bucks when I bought an old lot of lawnboys for parts.

I've got an old 1950s I think Briggs and Stratton mower I picked up from an auction along with a box of tools for 7 bucks but I can't find a pic of it. Will have to take one.

I recently was reunited with my father's old riding mower; it was a Case from the late 60's I believe. One of the family members found it and bought it. The guy my dad gave it to when I was young still had it.

We spent many a nights doing Halloween hay rides in it with the family. I seriously had a hard time not tearing up when I got to sit in it and start the engine up. It's just one of those things that you can never properly convey with words.

Cool thread, brother.
Simple is best!
Thanx. I saw a comment in another thread about a lawnmower thread. I think it was sarcasm but still made me think of my mowers and lawn stuff. So I thought I would post up my pics. I enjoy working on the old stuff. Trying to get things back to working order. This is the time of year I tinker on things.

Isn't that old stuff just neat? Maybe it's the memories of a simpler time. Idk but it all started with me buying an old lawnboy just like the one I use to push as a kid.
