So I have 3 boxes that were all set up to go out Saturday morning. :applause:

Labels printed, pick-up scheduled and confirmed online, boxes right on the front porch bench (not 2 feet frfom the front door), even had "on bench" on the pick up notes.

I even Sharpie-ed out my usual note taped to the top of the bench saying "USPS pick up (with an arrow)...Thank you!" :tiphat:

Everything done, every "i" dotted, every "t" croosed, extra mile travelled, no way they would not get picked up Saturday, right? :dunno:

Neeeope! :angryteet

Got home Saturday evening and there are the boxes with the note staring back at me...Mocking me. And the mockery continued as I looked in my in box to find the "carrier pick up confirmed" email...WTF?

So I am marching into my local USPS office Monday morning to demand either free overnight shipping, or a complete refund.

USPS has generally been good over the years, I must say that. But this sucks!

I think it depends on the worker. My experience has been generally good but that is some shady shit they pulled. I don't blame you for being angry.

My normal USPS driver is awesome but she works Monday through Friday so I'm never really sure who is going to show up on Saturday. Mailbox door open, neighbor's mail in my mailbox, packages left on top of my garbage can instead of in my garage. Those are normal occurrences when there is a Saturday or substitute driver on the job.

I can't say that UPS is much better though. The driver that brings my morning packages is awesome. The one that comes in the afternoon is a jackass. I have asked him repeatedly to put packages in the garage but he still leaves them on top of the garbage can. One day he even said "here you go" and tossed a package up half a flight of stairs to my wife.

Like Rex said, I think it all depends on the employee. My guess in this case was that he/she must have scanned them which led to you getting the pickup notice but then forgot to actually pick them up and put them in the truck. The silver lining here is that you at least know where the packages are. They could have just as easily left them somewhere else and then they would have been lost forever.

I've heard that all Saturday delivery/pickup is going to end to save money. maybe they decided to start early in your area.

Yeah, I've had packages delivered left in bags hanging on the mailbox when there is bad weather, packages piled in the snow, and then damn notices left when there was "no room in the mailbox". Especially when I am waiting for them haha. I own a screenprinting company that ships a lot, so I've had usps send packages in the opposite direction of its destination, Canadian packages taking over a month to get here, deliveries being a week after its guaranteed date. UPS is not much better though, they lost a package in New Jersey when on its way to NYC for a conference, and finally delivered the order of shirts 2 days after it ended, luckily the client was understanding or else it would have cost me over a grand for their mistake. They've also lost incoming packages that were very time sensitive, where I've had to reschedule travel and deliveries because the package was left on the wrong truck, or it just didn't make it off of the truck that day.

Moral of the story: any delivery service you choose is going to mess up sometime, especially when you need it not to. Cheers!

My last 2 packages took almost 2 weeks to deliver. I hear ups isn't doing much better. It has to be due to the holidays. I am waiting until after the new year to send anything else

You still have cigars left to send? I was thinking you were low for some reason...

I think that was a typo (probably that damn auto correct) I'm sure he meant he's waiting until after the new year to order anything else... We could probably help Brandon out with his low stock so he doesn't have to worry about dealing w/ USPS! 😉

The weather has been a factor lately too. I sent a package to Texas on Nov. 17th (USPS Priority) and it didn't get there until Dec. 5th. They "lost" it in a sorting facility for two weeks. It eventually got there and it was unopened, but damn...

They're all we have in our little 'burg so we're stuck with them.

I had one of those "carrier pick up confirmation" notices stuck through the mail slot of my door. Took it (along with the package they were supposed to pick up, which was RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR) to the post office and asked them if they could explain what this means. They said that it's a notice to let you know that the mailman picked up the package that I left. I then brought to their attention the box that I put on the counter 10 seconds ago and said, "That's odd....if he picked it up, how did it end up in front of my door?" The guy said that sarcasm isn't necessary. I told him neither is using USPS.

was the email confirming your scheduled pick-up or that the packages were actually picked up? Only thing I can think of is that your carrier passed by your house before you put the packages on the bench but if that was the case you should of received an email saying packages weren't found. Oh and if you want a refund your going to have to go through the website they won't be able to refund your money at the counter.

I'm watching a package that was going from IL to MN - go from IL to NY right now....via USPS ....

I don't think Rochester, NY is a USPS "sort" facility like Memphis is for FedEx....

Oy. Maybe that's just what happens when you're forced to pump money (tax dollars) into something that has no reason to "excel".
