Not sure what you mean by inverted V; but the Xikar cuts with the legs of the V first, rather than the point like most do. You can kind of see this from this shot of the open cutter on their site:

Not sure what i mean either. I just over heard someone at a shop talking about a new type of v cutter. The way they explained it, its an upside down type v cut. Am i wrong? Hard to see that picture on my phone

I still prefer my Palio. Cuts perfect every time. Tried someone's Xikar last night and it cut really nice, but I didn't enjoy the cigar as much as my traditional cut, maybe it's just a mind over matter issue. Lol.

I usually start by punching a cigar. Then a ways in giving it a straight cut. that way I try it both ways and I know how I want to cut the next time. the cut definitely make a HUGE difference in taste sometimes

Yes sir. Cutting a cigar is all about personal preference. So what one likes, another might not. That's why there are so many great cutters made, quality over cost IMHO, You get what you pay for.

But that Xikar is one sharp cutter. Lol

The V cutters currently on the market are called "inverted" sometimes...doesn't mean that the actual blade is upside down else it would pinch the tobacco and not cut.

FWIW I just got a xikar V cut. The thing that makes it stand out is the "inverted" blade on it. Very clean cut. Up until a month ago I had always straight cut. The "V" has changed things! :eyebrow: the cutter changes things too!
