So as you guys know my gf got me a nice cabinet humidor for Christmas. I was wondering his you guys felt about the cigar oasis humidifiers. Are they better than putting a few Boveda and heartfelt beads in the thing? I only ask because I heard letting Bovedas touch the cigars isn't too good. So would I have to put a boveda pack on every shelf under the smokes and the beads at the floor if I didn't go the oasis route?

What would you guys recommend?

Also I have been seasoning with the 84 bovedas and a gel jar for a few days and the analog hygrometer is deff busted. I calibrated a digital one and will be putting it in there this weekend which will interrupt the seasoning. I did wipe the shelves down with distilled water before hand though.

Amy advice is appreciated. Picture of humidor for reference.

I use beads as my primary humidification. I have about a lb on each of three shelves (I have an end table humidor). I do have an oasisXL plus on the top shelf that runs if things get really dry. I use it as my backup.

If u do decide on the oasis, take a knife and cut out the green foam (it molds) and fill with beads of KL. I think it works better.

You guys recommend the oasis on top shelf? I thought putting it in the bottom would be the norm.

Dont go the oasis route brother, its not big enough. I would go with bovedas or beads. Spend the 100$ on sticks to fill it up.

Bovedas touching your smokes is no problem, I have some 62 in most of the boxes I grab for security, never had a problem.

Take a look at Moist n air. It's a crude active humidifier that can handle a humi this size. Bovedas on a humidor this big can get costly, but they're the best. Probably a combo of a fan style humidifier at the bottom and some Boveda up top is what I'd do.

Nice humi, brother!

Cigar Oasis and Moist n Air are active humidifiers. The only time I would recommend using those is if you are putting it in something that doesn't have a good seal and it loses humidity constantly. If you have a good seal, the beads are the way to go. Boveda is fine, but I think beads would be cheaper for you in the long run.

A majority of our customers use the Cigar Oasis unit as their primary source of humidification. It is an active humidifier so it will turn on when the humidity drops below the set point and will shut itself off when the humidity has hit the set point. With our next generation units you can monitor the humidity level in your humidor from any location, s long as the unit is connected to our WiFi module and you have an internet connection or smart phone. Before purchasing a unit we do suggest that you visit our website and use the Humidifier Selector tool. This way you are sure that you are purchasing the correct unit for your humidor. Based on the image provided, you may need a Cigar Oasis Plus or Cigar Oasis Magna. The Magna uses water beads but the Plus does not. If you are purchasing a unit with the foam brick, we do not suggest you cut out the foam brick. It is pre-treated with an anti-fungal agent so that it will not grow mold. You do, however, need to replace the water cartridge after a year. I hope this post has addressed most, if not all, of your concerns. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.
