Cheapest Place For Ink Cartridges

I don't think there is any way around it other than getting a laser printer which doesn't need to change ink as often (but it costs a bit more)

All laser here and we buy the plain wrap from Staples. The refilling of ink cartridges killed the last two machines.

There are places you can get the TCO reports on almost every printer out there. It's a great resource to use before you buy a printer. I bought an Epson CX4200 for home a year and a half ago, one for my office last summer and one for our church office last year. They're all dead now. So I replaced my office printer with a Canon MF500. I won't buy an HP inkjet because they rake you over the coals for ink.

I should also add that we have several HP & Epson high end inkjets at the school and they go through tons of ink.

I've been happy with my HP 5550 although I do such a small amount of printing. I might use two cartridges a year so I guess I shouldn't really care.

Seems to print in a green hue when printing in gray scale. Think I will go back to the good ones and not save 5 bucks

Yea, I'm not sure what it is...maybe a dud, something wacky with the printer

it prints pages fine but pics, even in grayscale come out weird...I think it might be the color so im gonna swap that out

The sales clerk at Staples recently talked me into buying the Staples brand black ink cartridge for my Lexmark at a slightly lower cost than the Lexmark brand, claiming theirs had much more ink and would last longer.
I put the new cartridge in the night before last and it ran out last night right in the middle of a batch of coffee bag labels, ruining about half of them (since I wasn't paying attention). I'm pissed. Granted, I was doing some heavy duty printing between labels and brochures but no more than I'd been doing the past week or two with the Lexmark cartridge.
The brochures eat a lot of ink so I got a price for Staples to print them for me. .78 cents apiece for two-sided color trifold! I think that comes out to much more than Lexmark ink cartridges. I need to find a good print shop.
