House Carry Gun

A good neighborhood you say? Haha. Shit happens. If carrying a gun inside your house gives you peace of mind then that's worth it alone. I personally am a huge fan of shotguns for home defense. Hard to miss and the sound of the pump action is probably enough to stop someone without shooting.
Have a pump gun - but it's not something I have at an arms reach. My other half hates guns. It's concealed on my body, or it's in the safe.
Well thanks for your sincerity and not jumping to a conclusion. Alas I am not smart enough to do tongue-in-cheek. But it does make me think that perhaps no one can answer the question but me, so seeking advice is probably silly.

All I can say is you have to do what you feel is best for the safety of your family. I don't carry a gun but i have louisville slugger by the door, always have knife on me and done some improvements on the house to make it harder gain entry. One thing I will say that if you do decide to carry a gun your other half should be trained on how to handle it as well.
