Just ordered my fridge and wanted to see what you guys think about storing acids with other sticks? I don't plan on putting them in the same tray/boxes but would they be ok in the wineadore with separate boxes? Im real new to all this and so far have only stored them in separate humidors so no chance they could leach into my other cigars.

How long will they be in there? More than a few weeks (some will say less) and I wouldn't.

I wouldn't put them in there together long at all if we can help it.

1. You shouldn't be smoking them.
2. There is a reason that good cigar stores do not store them with other cigars.

This is another matter of personal opinion. I do know guys that do this with the cello on and still in the boxes. I personally wouldn't take the chance though but to each his own.

when you store infused cigars in the same storage as regular cigars you risk inadvertently infusing the regular cigars to some degree. The regular cigars (and the wood in the humidor) can absorb some of the scent/flavor of the infused cigars, most of which have a very strong scent too. If the cigars are actually touching, some of the sryupy stuff that is on the actual flavored cigar can transfer over as well. The degree of how much transfer depends on a lot of factors which you can probably guess (amount, size, time, etc.). Not worth the risk imo.

On a side note, I remember reading about people purposely infusing their own cigars by a similar method, I do not know if it is true and works or how well it works though. Basically, from what I read, they would put a shot of whiskey (or any other flavor/scent they were trying to use) in a sealed container with the cigar they were trying to infuse and eventually some of the flavor would be infused in the cigar.

I have experience storing infused with non-infused in the same box. As long as you keep the cello on both and separate them by a divider you can store them together short-term (30-60 days) with no issues. However if you plan to store them longer than that get a humidor to hold your infused or you will see flavor migration to your other sticks.

Also, in my experience, once you get that infused smell into the wood of your humi, you'll never, ever get it out.

The tube may take longer for the odor to permeate additional substrates, whether it be the other cigars or the wood in your humidor. But over time it will, and leave an odor your are likely to not be able to get out in the process. Most people here do not want to impart infused flavors on their other cigars or have their humidor smell infused so if they are storing infused cigars, they keep them separate.
