It was a Lusi and I'm sort of thinking that This may be like drinking scotch....you will develop a taste for it. I'm a huge Gurkha (legend, class regent, aged maduro, anniversario), Torano (1916 cammy, 1959 Exodus, Virtuoso), and AF fan (Canones maduro, LaUnica, SG Royal Salute). The Lusi was from 2004 and tasted just okay, very earthy with a spice build near the end. I have a Boli pc, HdM epicure #1, Jose Pietra petit cetros, Diplomatico #2 and PINAR 3000 in the humi.

Any comments are most welcome.

Lusi's need a lot of age to get to their "sweet" spot. I would try some more "ready" smokes like the Juan Lopez #1 or #2, Monte 2s, Partagas P2, etc...it's all down hill from here!

Smoking a cuban cigar is not like flipping a light switch, as far as the taste goes, for everyone.

 @ Cliff
He is right, that is not a Cuban cigar.

This is what we are discussing in the other thread. It wasn't like a light switch for me but I did like my first smokes. For some it's love at first smoke. It did get me very curious though. You know what they say about curiosity. I'll be honest with you it wasn't the young CC that turned me onto smoking CC. It was some of the nicer aged smokes that turned the light bulb on for me. I think the Lushi is terrific but I think N2A is correct I have heard it needs more time than some. I might be in the minority but I really don't care for most young smokes. I think most need at least 3 years age.

Until I developed an ability to pull cigar flavors out of my sinus & palate, I couldn't detect the subtle differences between cigars; all my taste was in the FRONT of my mouth, so cigars had to bowl me over with flavor for me to notice--which probably explains why I was initially drawn to maduros with flavorful wrappers, which I could pick up on my lips/tongue.

Nowadays, I find myself purposely drawn to medium-bodied cigars because I can get more flavor variety from them, and I'm even able to enjoy even a good MILD cigar now, something I could never even taste before.

Because of my new flavor preference, I'm falling for CCs. At the risk of getting flogged for saying this...I love the creamy "vanilla" and "flowers" flavors that I get out of them, which I rarely get out of any NC.

So basically (like many others in the other thread) while my first CC was noticably good, it didn't make me jump up-and-down. But after developing my taste a while longer, I finally realized (at least, for me) why CCs are so yummy-good.

I have tasted the floral notes in a CC but that's an unpleasant taste for me. It's sort of like perfume on my taste buds. I really enjoy a CC heavy in the allspice flavor.

Also, you may not like the Partagas flavor. I'm not a big Partagas fan myself. There are a few that I have liked, but mostly they don't do it for me. Especially the psd4. Young or old, I just don't like them. So I would suggest trying many different brands to find the ones that suit you and your tastes.
