I am a Certified Band-a-holic

My brothers. I'm hoping some of you will understand me. My name is Jeff and I am a band-a-holic. I love collecting the bands of the cigars I smoke. Right now I just store them in an empty box but I have so many things I plan to do with them at some point or another. Tonight I broke out my box of bands and did a little sorting just to see what I had collected. I thought I'd snap a few photos and maybe see what others of you do with your bands. Do you throw them out? Only keep the band for a stick you've never tried before? Keep them all like me? Enjoy my pics.

That's a cool collection you got there. I unfortunately do not keep mine. I have tried in the past but I usually forgot them in my pocket and they ended up in the wash or I would put it on my finger and they would rip so I just said F it.

I had some trouble for a while but I made a conscious effort to keep them. Helps me remember what I liked or disliked.

I used to have a big collection but threw them away- only to start another one. No idea what I'll end up doing with them.

I do often find stragglers in my wallet, car, pockets etc. I bought a box of pensados and smoked them all but only have five bands so I know I lose many before they make it to the box too.

I used to keep them but purged them at one point. If I ever want to do a project I will just save some up I guess.

I used to collect them but have since stopped. Now they just decorate my ash tray till I empty it. Unless it's a special occasion then I may save the band.

After I have about 100 of them, I'll make a new cigar out of them and smoke it.

ps. anyone know how to get ink out of a lung?

I have a hollow glass lamp that I've been wanting to fill with cigar bands. I need to get started though. It could take a while.

I have a Dossier I keep all of my bands in, and I'm pretty obsessive about it. Anything new MUST go in the book.

We should start a support group. I don't think I've ever thrown one away. I have plans of using them to make a table top under glass or something similar. Who knows. I kind of just like the way they look now.

That is cool. I would love to see some of the older ones. I'll be sure to let you know once I decide to do something with mine.

I have also thought about collaging them on construction paper and framing them to go behind my bar.

I had the band from every cigar I had ever smoked. When I got married I tossed them all away and restarted the collection because my wife smokes with me. I keep them in a photo album, the ones with the sticky back. It was her idea and I keep it going. We have a few hundred so far. The collection is growing daily.

I've kept em since I started smoking cigars earlier this year. I glue em all along with the name of the cigar and vitola on blank white pages that I out in a photo album
