This is awesome news! How cool!!

Love the idea of paying tribute and respect to those that passed the year before. A great way to celebrate life and lift people up!

Looking forward to it!

The brief article says nothing about the blend or tobacco source(s). Sad to me that the packaging and branding is a bigger story than the tobacco. I am intrigued, however....

Dave - I believe CA intentionally omitted that portion of the write-up as they're saving it for the article that will appear in today's "Cigar Insider"...

Once again Jon you & the good people at CH have found a new and great inspiration for a cigar. Working with the Garcia's on this project is awesome....I am a huge fan of My Father, La Duena, Tatuaje and L'Atelier and have never been dissapointed by anything coming out of the My Father facility. I have been very impressed with Four Kicks, Headley Grange and JD Howard Reserve and now I have more great things to look forward to from CH! Thanks again for everything you do and how you do it.

“Calaveras will be an annual release that is a respectful homage to those who have passed away in the year before,” Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber told Cigar Aficionado. “Rather than a symbol of sadness or death, it’s intended to be a celebration of their lives and remembrances.”

So if you buy some 2014's and sit on them, no matter if it's 2016 when you smoke one, you are smoking it for those who died in 2013?

I live in the southwest and have full understanding of Dia de Muertos but am trying to wrap my head around, as far as cigars go......

wait a minute, these guys made a cigar about a drum solo that is pretty bad ass so I'll just not think too hard and wait for it.

That's very exciting! Hopefully I will be able to pick a few up when they make it to the shelves :fingers crossed:

Or I could always go do quality control and sample em that way. I'll be in Nica for a week at the beginning of March; just let the MF factory know I'm stopping by :eyebrow:
