So my buddy just finished his PhD and got a job in NY. I got him into smoking cigars, but then he switched to vaping because he could smoke inside. So when he moved, he gave me his humidor. It was his father's whom passed away in December, so it has sentimental value. But I think he was storing his pipe tobacco in it because it smells like Cavendish. Is there a way to get ride of the smell so I could use it, or just keep for the sent value?

Re season it and put a shot glass of baking soda in there with it empty. Let it sit for a 3-4 days. Open it up take the baking soda out. Re wet the interior and put some cedar sheets. As many as you can actually. In there and then close it up for a week. Should be better. I got a humidor that was primarily for infused cigars. Thing reeked. Did that and now it smells like good ol Spanish cedar.
