Strong CA IPA bias here, I'll admit. You're in AZ so I'm guessing most of these are available to you.

Firestone Walker Double Jack
Saint Archer Double IPA
Green Flash Palate Wrecker
AleSmith YuleSmith (summer version)
Stone Enjoy By
Alpine Beer Nelson/Pure Hoppiness
Port Hop 15
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid

None of those are entry-level IPAs, but all of them are fan-freaking-tastic. Oh, and of course Russian River Pliny the Elder, but I doubt you can find that at the moment. At least not in bottles.

Happy hunting.

Seira Nevada hoptimum
Bells Hopslam
Odell Mercenary
Deschutes inversion.
Deschutes red chair [I think they call this a West Coast pale ale but it's amazing)
Southern tier 2xipa

Just a few that I didn't see on the list

Recently turned 21 so I'll go buy a single or two sometimes, bought a 6 of whatever ipa it was off a recommendation and man did I hate them lol. Never drinking one again...maybe
A lot of people just can't "hop" into drinking IPA...There is a wide variety...I would recommend starting with one that has the least bitterness units (IBU's)this info is easily attained on the Web if your not sure where to look...The more often you drink it the more your palate developes and taste acuires...similar to cigars... you wouldn't go giving some newbie a powerhouse cigar...start slow...then also similar to cigars then begins the search for the latest greatest HTf limited edition etc...IPA BEGINS! ....IPA Cigars and hot wings....mmmmmmmm I gotta get off this thread it's only monday :(

Oh and what's also nice is i can drink 6...7 beers and have a great night ..... As opposed to 20 bud lights!
I really enjoy this about IPAs as well. You don't have to drink a million of them and can actually enjoy the flavor of the beer instead of pounding back as many as you can in as short a time as possible.

Trouble however begins when you make the mistake of pounding IPAs the same way as you do Bud Lights. The next morning can be just awful...lol

I really love IPA's my list would start;
Dogfish Head 60,90,&120
Stone IPA's are great but can be a bit strong.
21st amendment
I would also suggest try the most commonly found, Harpoon, Sam Adams, Goose Island just to try them all.
Then I would find a good store with big beer selection and just buy mix six packs and try and try and try.

Enjoy

This is true...Once you acquire the taste... The flavor of IPAs is so enjoyable.... and yes pounding them leads to the worst hangover...The worst... it always had seemed like a great idea the night before the hangover though ;) Here's to never learning my lesson...Cheers!!

like beer in general? Not heavy like Ipa?

I would recommend:

-Ithaca apricot wheat
-Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse Dunkel*
-Sam Adams summer ale
-lienenkugel summer Shandy
-Blue Moon
-Any ciders are good if your into that...just can't drink a lot too sweet ...i like Harpoon Cider

I could go on for a while...best advice ..sample away....In the end you'll arrive at IPA and won't look back ;)

**obviously the summer beers are seasonal**

Beer in general. The problem is I wouldn't even know where to look for most of that stuff. I know there's a decently sized liquor store close to work I could check on payday

I would look at any beer distributor near you...if they don't have something in Stock try asking them if they will take orders for a specific case... I have the one near me order stuff all the time..... and almost everyone I talk to around here didn't know they do that ...not something that's usually advertised
