I notice that a lot of CC I smoke seem to have a tight draw and was thinking of storing them at a lower RH like 60%. I currently keep everything at 65%. Anyone else have this problem or have tried this?

I keep all my CC at 60%. Every one smokes WAY better than they do at 65%.

Until I set up a new humidor so that I can separate CCs and NCs, everything is kept at ~60 right now. Everything seems to be smoking great.

Smoke all CCs at 65. No problems. But I don't smoke any within at least 2-3 years of production. (Maybe a half corona) and i don't smoke any with less than 3months in my own humi.

I don't think I've ever had a plugged CC become unplugged by aging it. Not all CC's need "a lot of age" either. Some are pretty damn good fresh. Especially recent production ones.

depends on temperature too.if your temp is 70 degrees and you maintain 65% moisture,your RH is 65%.
if your temp is 65 degrees and you maintain 65%,your RH is 70%.
under 60 degrees the air will not maintain enough moisture to properly maintain cigars

That's why it is called "relative" humidity.......

explain why, then, that so many 2000 and 2001 CCs are tight and will not draw,when do you estimate they will be smokable????????

current setup - smaller ring freshies are at 62 soas to firm things up as hopefulls for possible early spring lineup semi rotation ..... 2.5+ yo's are in the 65 ... outta rotation / nc / 50+ ring are in suspension at 69

just erring on the cautious . small ring freshies are at greater prevolence for excess combustion irregularities ..

62-63 for me at around 68 degrees.
Rarely have issues and if i do its from construction, not RH. I smoke fresh, aged and vintage. Keep them all the same.

How do you guys feel about temp. I have a new air280 and it says 66 but thermo says 64. Humidity is at 66. Is temp to low? I see everyone posting higher temps.

You can easily store in the upper 50's, 64 is great.

Been about 61-62% for years, and my cigars smoke great.

Also perplexed by the claim that all CCs need lots of age (I have several examples of "freshies" smoking great), and that aging will "unplug" a plugged cigar. Neither of these claims has validity in my experience.
