Jerusalem circa 30-33CE as I'd like to know the real truth...hope that doesn't offend anyone...barring that, I think I would like to have been at the side of Tokugawa Ieyasu at the Battle of Sekigahara when the Japanese shogunate was established, or with Miyamoto Musashi when he wrote Go Rin No Sho (The Book of Five Rings)...or maybe flying with the RAF in WWI or WW2...oh, wait...that's about 5 places isn't it? I think the ONE place I'd really HAVE to be is next to Sherman in the WAYBACK machine...or maybe with Dr. Who in TARDIS? Hmmmm....:jitb:

Since it's so close to the 5th Anniversary of Sept 11, 2001...

I'd go back and be at home when it happened. I was on the road, and I've never felt so alone and afraid in my life. If ever there was a time when you needed loved ones around, that was it.

sorry for the downer guys...

It's honest and meaningful, Randy... For me, that's one time I'll never go back to.

It IS a great question... Probably cheesy, but I'd give anything to be at the Pennsylvania State House (Independence Hall), Philadelphia during the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776... Or in 1787 for the signing of the Constitution...

Either that or the opening month of Studio 54 on the Westside in 1977.

Both would have been fun and full of strange sexual encounters. (Well, one of them would have.)

Fantastic question (and very interesting responses). An infinite number of possible responses, from Biblical events to pivotal historical moments and from entertainment venues to personal encounters. Wow. This will take quite a while.

Like when Erich's parents were knockin' boots when he was conceived - could have been there to hand the man a condom....

To be an observer, I would agree with geoffrie and witness Abraham Lincoln deliver the Gettysburg Address.

As a participant, I'd like to have been the Sheriff of Deadwood.

I'd like to go back to the very beginning, but those answers are not for us to know, so I'll settle with travelling with Lewis and Clarke while exploring the West.

How about circa 2300 BC, right after the completion of the second Great Pyramid at Giza...to see them in their original glory.

I would like to hang out around the time the KT boundry was formed. For those that don't know, that was the time the dinosaurs became extinct.

I for one would really like to know what really happened.
