I'm stuck up here in Jersey for a couple more days, so tonight I'm enjoying a Four Kicks with Elmer T. Lee (Bourbon) out in the smoke room. All of a sudden, I hear 10 very loud gunshots, perfectly spaced about 1 second apart. At first it doesn't even phase me, as gun shots are normal background noise in the NC foothills/mountains. Then it hits me that I'm in urban South Jersey (5 minutes from Philly) where it's illegal to even discharge a firearm. Weird, as all shots came from the same gun, with perfect spacing between each shot. No rapid fire, no variation, and only one gun. So, no shootout, and probably not defensive fire. After a few minutes I decide that it's probably a good idea to call 911 and report it. They said they where sending out officers to investigate, but I didn't see any show up. I sure hope it was some idiot shooting off a mag, and that they don't discover bodies in one of the neighboring houses in the next few days.

No worry folks, as my CZ-75 is always next to me out there. I realized a while ago, that if someone broke in when I was out there enjoying a smoke, I'd be a sitting duck. Since the CZ is one of my "live" 1st floor guns, it always accompanies me out there.
At first, I had no intention to even report it, but it just didn't make any sense. In the back of my mind, I started thinking "execution", where folks may have been tied up, and someone was walking around the room popping them. I sure hope I'm wrong on that one.

Not my all time favorite, but it is a tack driver, and probably in my top 5. I picked it up about 15 years ago from CDNN for only $219 new in box. It was an overrun from a contract CZ did for the Turkish military, so it's slightly different from their standard production, and has a black polymer finish.
You should definitely report any unlawful discharge of a firearm. Spent casings and/or bullets found could be discharged from a stolen/illegal firearm linked to past crimes and may provide leads. and if caught may prevent future crimes with that firearm

I have a p07 duty. Excellent! Fits so perfectly in my hand and I paired it with a streamlight HL 630 lumen light.
Nothing on the news channels, and the police did not stop by to check out my story, so hopefully, it was just some idiot popping off a mag. I'm heading back to the NC hill country first thing in the morning, where gun fire is a common and comforting sound.
