I'm excited Brothers! I bought me a used VinoTemp cooler so that I can make a humidor out of it! I bought it for a whooping $50 off of Craigslist. I need to clean it with baking soda and get it ready for cigars! And me being a Graphix guy I'm going to print a sweet pic of cigars to go on the translucent part on top so that the light will shine through the Graphix. I'm also going to wrap the sides with some cigar graphix! If y'all have any suggestions for cleaning or preps please let me know!

Nice get! My only suggestion would be to use activated charcoal instead of baking soda.

But PLEASE send pix after you do the wrapping. Can't wait to see it.

Congrats, that's a steal! Can't wait to see some pics as you get the graphics done and get it filled. Are you planning to use the current shelves/setup?

So buy a spray with activated charcoal? I will definitely show pics when I'm done. I have to find the right pics for it. Thanx for the tip brother!

Go to a pet store and you can get activated charcoal in the aquarium section. Just put a small tray/dish of it on each of your shelves. I bought a container that's the size of an old milk container for about $12

I am about done setting mine up. Now I wiped down with a baking soda water mixture and dried. Then I put in about half dozen little dishes of activated charcoal as mentioned above. Now you will want to run it with activated charcoal so it circulates the air. After a few days or a week, it should be ready for seasoning.

I believe that's a condensor unit, so make sure you're not needing the cooling portion. That'll zap your rH!

As for cleaning, I'd recommend distilled white vinegar. You're looking to kill everything in there, not just get rid of the ambient odor. Vinegar will smell horrible for a couple hours, but will dissipate and leave no smell at all. If you want to use charcoal after that, you could, but I strongly recommend starting with vinegar first. It just kills everything.

Can't wait to see the wrap job!

Hahaha! I have to get the fridge recharged! Low in freon I believe! I've never had RIP IT. I'm guessing its pretty good! ;)
It's actually deer piss.... It's sold in SOME dollar trees. Seriously. One sip and you can feel your teeth rotting. My dentist actually curses it. Because of the lack of fluoride and prevalence of rip it's when deployed.

But it's free. And stocked in DFacs. So you get redbull + cocaine effects in half the size. Sure you have to chug it down and try to forget how bad it tastes each time. But it got me through 6 months of night shifts only to have to get off shift in the morning and go put up tents.

Stockholm syndrome. In a can

Unless you're planning on using it for drinks instead of cigars, don't bother. If you plug in that fridge, it will zap all the humidity out of the air inside if it runs for any length of time at all. Condenser units remove humidity and that defeats the entire purpose of putting your cigars in there.

Yes! I forgot about the white vinegar. I did that to mine as well, first step.
