So, on a whim, I bought an Asylum 13 7x70 today while getting some empty boxes and a few other sticks I wanted to try. 100% an impulse buy.

So my question is what does it pair well with? I don't want to waste it so I'd love to hear from people who have had one (or those who haven't had one but have heard what pairs well).

Thoughts?

I've heard that they are damn strong. I'd personally pair it with a New York Strip, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and wash it all down with some Mac n Cheese. Whatever you drink with it, I'd also keep a Coke nearby just in case nicotine comes at you a bit harder than you might prefer.

IIRC, a lot of wood type spice? tried it when they first rolled out. my pair would be a birch beer or ginger beer, myself, and that would back up master shake's high vitamin N fears as well.

Thanks guys. It was absolutely an impulse buy. Got home with it, put it in the humi and thought, "what the hell did I do that for?"

I'll wait until Summer when I can spend 3 hours with it outside. I like having the steak dinner and pairing it with a Cuba Libre...

I like the asylum. I've not had the 70 but I've paired other sizes with woodford double Oaked and buffalo trace. That's a long smoke so I'd think most people couldn't or wouldn't drink bourbon the whole time. I'd do it over lunch maybe a burger or steak and cheese and a brew and finish it with bourbon.

I had the ogre, and it was great on the nicotine, but for taste it was very bland... I can't remember what I paired it with :/
