I'm looking to try something different and I see a lot about Illusione cigars. There seems to be a lot choices. Any opinion on which ones to try first? I know I could just jump in and buy some, but thought I would ask for advice here first.

The cigars I smoke weekly are the Cain Habano and F's, Undercrowns, Papas Fritas, Oliva V's and Melanio, Casa Fernandez Miami and Camacho Triple Maduro if that helps.

Give the epernay a go on a clean palate, you won't be disappointed. Give the ultra a go if you want full body and full flavor with balance. The rothchildes are great. The whole line is fantastic.

Why would you want to smoke anything else???
Because verity is the spice of life?!

Yes I recommend a Rothschild, great little smoke. Also have enjoyed the cg4 before.

Based on your likes, I highly suggest starting with CG4. Full flavor. Size with most consistent construction. Widely available. Long and/or skinny Illusione can be a little temperamental; Epernay are great, but pretty nuanced for those of us who like full bodied cigars; Maddies are all (mostly?) San Andres wrapped - If that's to your liking, try one of those. To me, the maddies and Ultra are overpowered by the wrapper and lose the wonderfully complex spiciness found in core lines. That said, there isn't a bad Illusione. But the CG4's, to me are tops.

I'd try the 88 in natural and maduro and go from there. There are plenty of sizes and blends to choose from with Illusione but I always find myself going back to the 88 and F9 naturals. Their Cruzado and Epernay lines are also fantastic and if you like Casa Fernandez I think you'll find yourself liking those blends as well.

Wow, thanks guys! I am going to take notes and get a few to try for the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments coming up, weather is supposed to be warming up. I will report back with what I go with.
