Dizzy, I'll go too... so you won't be the only herf virgin.
As i'm prone to breaking all the rules/protocol on accident... anything i need to know? Cigars are to be purchased at the lounge, correct? I really only pair my cigars with two drinks.... and I understand that there will be no bourbon. Does anyone know if they allow you to bring in your own coffee?
Any other rules her rules or etiquette that i am missing? New guys stand at all times and empty ash trays? Those with mullets and/or mustaches get first choice of seating? Anytime anyone mentions "Drew Estate", the group must stand and bow in a sign of respect? Everyone's stick gets thrown into a pile and we take turns picking, like how teams are decided for games of pond hockey?
Sorry, just read this. Ok great, that makes things easier. Now i wont feel lost, ha! Now to think of an excuse to give my wife?

Dizz, that's easy. You tell her "I'm going out to do manly things. Be naked on the bed when I get back".....maybe this is why I'm divorced... Nope, that's not it.
Ha yep, I think that could work.

Ill make it for a few but whats the plan? bring your own sticks, drinks, etc?

Why does everyone like smoking their own sticks at the B&M? Is it because of the higher humidity in the B&M humi?
Pretty much, yeah. My local B&M, for example, keeps the Rh in their humidors too high out of necessity (especially this Winter). So, by bringing your own, you're pretty much guaranteed that the stick will smoke well. If I spent $20 on a couple of cigars that I had to keep relighting or had a tight draw, I'd be annoyed. But if I spent $20 on those same two sticks and then take them home to rest in my humidor that I know is properly humidified, then I can smoke them in a month or two without concern.

Two things, not all B&Ms are the greatest at keeping their numbers in point, so I try to let them rest a little before smoking, not possible all the time but I try.

Second, I have better sticks that they don't carry that if I'm meeting up with BOTL I'd like to smoke better stuff. Herfs don't happen often and I rather smoke an opus than some standard stick I can smoke at home alone.

Just my take on it, but I always but from the B&M regardless.

Yeah, a bunch of us up here in random NW burbs. I grew up in Crystal Lake... moved out to Island a few years ago by way of a few years in Chicago/Norridge.

Good tips on the sticks. I think i'll buy a couple there... but smoke what I've been saving all winter.

Looking forward to meeting you all. Just too bad it doesn't look like we'll be able to sip some whiskey. The pics from the website show a lot of Red Solo cups. I wonder though if their policy is much like state campgrounds in Kentucky. The rule is that you can't have alcohol... but they don't exactly go looking for it.

I'll be bringing a couple of full bodied gut-kickers, so I'll also bring a bottle of Coke. It's *possible* that something might slip in there before I leave the house.

So far, I am counting: Four Kicks Fan, dscl, 3/5King, Frozen Toews, Jdog, Dizzy, myself and (I think) sofc for a total of 8.

MWLable, are you swinging down from Milwaukee?
