First off don't want to start off on the wrong foot. Don't know if this is the right place for this or now. Please let me know if it is.

New to Cigars, been smoking them for about 1/2 yr to yr. Live in Canada and Work in the States as an engineering. Have tried most of the standard Cubans with living in Canada, See Bands for Past smokes below.

photo 1.JPG[photo 2.JPG

The non Cubans that I have tried I have not liked Don Thomas Clasico's and Sun Grown, CAO Concert and Italia, Illussion 888. They all have a common flavour that did not sit right with me. I do not have pallet to tell what the flavour is. Just that I do not enjoy them.

I have tried a few Nicaraguian that I like like, Brickhouse Toro, Quorum Toro, Quorum Shade Robusto, Liga Privada NoJ Robusto, CAO Gold, not the Maduro Robusto.

I have a limited budget and after reading about being fically responsible with this habit, I couldn't agree more. I only have a small Humidor right now and have purchased a used glass top from Ebay. Around a 50 count.

I'm hoping you can steer me to possible other brands that I possible likebased off this list so I can reduce my costs on cigars that I just don't like.

My current collection is above. I wouldn't call it a collection as future enjoyments.

I have been buying from pics of your collections here on the baises that if you have more than 5 in yours, it must be good. I know this is not the best method but without any guidence, I have no other choise.

I'm searching not for high price wonders, 'd buy a Cohiba Singlo I. Max for my price range. I'm looking for 5-10 buck per.

Any thought's or reccomendations would be great.

There are clearly so many brands you can choose from and I can tell you every single one of my favorites, but until you smoke them and decide for your self the project is kind of pointless. Not trying to be unhelpful. It is not a bad Idea to see what people are smoking here on todays smoke but another thing you can do (I do it and its very helpful) is read reviews and see if what they are describing hits on what your looking for . If it does, drop by your local b&m or make a purchase online. btw. I love most tatuajes, Paul Garmirian, Illusione, La Palina, Under Crown, Liga, Ramon Allones, Partagas cc, Monte ep2, Ashton VSG, Don Pepin Garcia, My Father, Latalier. Good luck!!!

Can you give me a recommendation on size? I have thru limited trial and error stuck with three size when I pick. I love Brickhouse Toro with a sweeten coffee/expressor. Quorum Toro, and Short Robust with same coffee/expresso. Athing with a 50 gage or larger. The smaller gages I have noticed whru my limited experience are stronger. I like Mild but firm flavour. The Liga Privada NoJ Robusto I had yesterday was great. Wished it was a bit more milder like it first started off. 1/2 way thru the base flavour was over powering all the subtleness. Still my review is next month's picks will include at least two more and a possible Toro size.

For Tatuaje what sizes do you recomend?

Start with sizes you generally like. They are all very good though.

Sorry been off searching for a thread on what factors the size and ring gage has on flavour strength.

Like the Don Pepin Garcia Blue. Great Flavour, strong as hell and has toungue tingling. The first 1/2" was strong and a bit over powering. After my pallet became to the strength, I can taste the flavours of the reviews. Going great with this Tasimo Americano Coffee! don't want it to end, thank god theres still 1/2 left.

Any pointer's on the thread where the comparision is. Having trouble seach the whole forum.

I find the smaller ring guage tats are more enjoyable. ..less power and more flavor. The Havana Cazadores and noella are both excellent. Avoid the reservas, they tend to be fuller in body.

If you like Brickhouse you may like 7-20-4 and La Requiza. Stick with the robusto, Lonsdale or corona gordas to start. Fratello might work as well...I prefer the Corona gorda In that one.

For an inexpensive smoke, try Henry Clay brevas.

Got a little late last night to finish my review/thoughts on the Don Pepin Garcia Original Blue I was enjoying. From the middle to the last 1 1/2" (took off the bands to enjoy more of it) same strength and flavours (basically heavy/strong - 3/4 Full I think, had alot stronger ones but not many), no tar leakage out the end like others I have smoked recently, The last 1/2 is got stronger and I stopped smoking it. I think it was due to the heat being closer to the end. At about that time my tongue wasn't tasting anything other than the main base flavour. I would guess the taste was of leather, althought never chewed on leather other than when a kid on my rocking hoarses ears. lol The mild flavours where great to start but became over powering towards the end. Liked the combination flavours though.

If I'll personally buy this one again anytime soon? The answer is no, not right away anyways.

Thanks for your recomendations. Still have not found any litature on the impact of ring size compared to flavour. Any resources/links you have would be great.
