Smaller, slower, slightly more frequent puffs of cooler smoke. Allows me to hold it further back into the tongue and throat and sinus. It's totally opened up the flavor of a lot of cigars I'd smoked previously & started to develop my awareness of new note ranges. Loving this. Just thought I'd share & thank the Brothers for helping me get more out of our shared hobby.

I had an "a ha" moment like this years ago. In addition to smaller puffs, puffing much slower (barely sipping it) and letting the smoke roll around your mouth and out your nose (retrohaling) makes a huge difference and helps you really taste the flavors of the cigar much better, IMO.

This this a million times this.

Not just to get more flavors but to force you to slow down. Life is so hectic at times. We spend a lot of our time moving at high speed and some times the time with a cigar can really serve to help slow down the world. At least for me anyway

I started to set my cigar down after a puff and its really made me take more time inbetween and its really allowed cigars to ooen up on flavor. I smoke incredibly slow now.

Smoking slow makes a world of a difference. I was told this when I tried my first lancero, and since then have found it much more enjoyable/flavorful/relaxing when smoking all vitolas. Enjoy the hour or two with your cigar, it is sometimes the only time you get to truly slow down in a day.

Hmm. I'll have to give this a conscious try soon.
I consistently do long draws, but with lots of time between.

Depending on the cigar I smoke them at different paces. I allow the cigar to lead the dance. For example the AtlAtl lancero that has moved to my top 2 lances enjoyed long deep slow pulls and a little rest time and it burned at a very nice pace. THe Casa Fernandez Miami I had yesterday though preferred a 1-2 puff and a nice longer pull and extra retrohale and lasted 2 hours. I love this dance with the smokes. Nothing like a nice understanding between us.
