Newb question of the day!

Yes I'm a newbie to the cigar world, BUT I just landed a shrink wrapped box of Dirty Rats!!!!!!

The question is do I need to remove the wrap before throwing these bad boys in the humidor? Does this depend on how long I want to store them?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of shrink wrap left on the box vs shrink wrap taken off the box?

It's personal preference. Lots of people crack the shrink, open them to inspect for shipping damages, or mold though.

I am with Scully on this one. Crack it open and make sure there is no visible damage, and especially no mold. You know how you store cigars but you have no control of how they were handled or stored before you got them.

+3 on the opening to inspect. Plus, it's such a cool feeling opening a brand new box of cigars, seeing that one with the cello reversed...
