When you say "buying a few barrels"...you are talking bottled whiskey right?as we here were looking at buying another two barrels.

Nice, sounds like a sweet gig!no, dude, i went down with my GM and the owner and did a barrel selection for our stores, we BOUGHT TWO SEPARATE single barrels of BT. which were then bottled and tagged specifically for our stores. it was cool as shit, but in all honesty terrifying for an alcoholic. but, whatayagunnado, it's a job i enjoy. o)
Were the 6 barrels from totally different parts of the warehouse? Like different floors, etc?
"springs reserve" one and four, out of a six barrel selection.
... which is THE ONLY way to get a single barrel iteration of woodford, FWIW.
EDIT: and, yeah, TOTALLY different locations within the rackhouse. springs reserve 1 was, to me, bright and playful, where 4 was more restrained and subdued, but both within the BT flavor profile. all the barrels were within months of each other's age, and the location where they were stored, and the implied microclimate conditions, were the only differentiating factors.
