Hi all.

I am new on this board, and somewhat to the cigar world. I have been following a few boards and what not for the past years, but never really escalated from curiousity to hobby.

So I've been offered half a box of Cohiba Siglo VI, but I am a bit cautious. From my humble opinion the sticks looks legit, the band looks right, but the box does not seem right to me, but I am really a newbie and my opinion is worth next to nothing. Anyway, I hope that you guys can help me out judging this one?

Thanks a lot for your help, it is greatly appreaciated :)

Absolutely no seals on the box and or even residue from adhesive?

Lol these are the worse 'can you tell me if these are real' pics ever lol. I'm not saying it to be mean it's actually funny because every angle and distance you chose obscures any clues to look for lol. All I can see is no external seals (I've never seen a box without them and don't know of any circumstances that they would be missing) and it looks like some internal packaging is absent as well but that could've just been taken out by whom ever got the other half.

I agree but I do know a guy that takes all the seals off his. Funny I was just looking at the photos again and thinking all the views I want are just off a bit.

Uhhhhh, shouldnt there be a Habanos box seal, warranty seal, and that internal notice sheet (wax paper Habanos thing)? :scratchhe
I guess someone could have taken the seal stickers off hard to tell about the wax paper habano sheet.
Very sketchy IMO. And I'm with 40, why would anyone even take them off if they were there.

The guy I know said he likes the clean box look. Got me I like the seals left on. The other thing about the box I don't see siglo anyplace but it could be my eyes. Again it seems like the photos are all a bit off to hide something?

I think those c's aren't right. A pic of the band close up should do. But again that box is way too clean. Even if you removed the stamps you'd have to clean it up afterwards. They don't just come off cleanly. That box looks like no stamps have ever been affixed to it.

Not an expert on this but I have yet to see someone sell real cigars in a fake box. Also the heads don't look right to me. ALL Cubans are triple cap and it may be the pics but I'm not seeing any triple caps. Something is wrong.

I'm with the guys above when they say why no seal or habanos sticker ? And maybe it's just the pics but I only see a single cap on the cigars which would make me say fake, just my opinion take it or leave it

Edit: beat me to it with the caps concern

Some things already said here are indeed concerning
- triple caps (maybe it's the quality of the picture but I can't see them)
- the lack of sals (or discoloration where they should have been)
- In the picture where you lined them all up, you can clearly see color differences (again might be the picture)

But I'm afraid all you can do is smoke one and make your judgement

Wow, thanks a lot for all your replies and efforts.

I agree that the pictures are not 100% perfect, it was however the seller who sent me those photos, and from my poor knowledge they seemed adequate - now I know better :)

I agree on the stickers and the missing "Siglo IV 25" print/burn on the front. Further I think the date stamp looks a bit off.

Wrt to the band and caps, I was at first certain that the "three dot" passed, but now I am a bit unsure whether or not some of it actually is cut in the middle by the Cohiba logo. For the caps I actually see the tripple cap on some of them.

Overall my conclusion, based on the box alone, is that this is a fake and for that I won't take my chances. Unfortunatly I guess it is true that if it is too good to be true, it is not true :)

Ember, you now see why these folks are knowledgable about cigars that we cannot get here in the Us. Lol

Having said that, head over to the introductions threads and properly introduce yourself. I'm sure it was an oversight, but we would really enjoy learning about you and the cigars you enjoy for your third post, welcome to the board sir.

Here is the link to that thread as well as an informational read on basics for BOTL

He has one pic of the front of the SLB and it's cutting off the sig VI embracing . Have him send you that again. I'm not so much in agreement with everyone else. Just not all the way that is.... I think they may be real. I don't know why the seals are missing. Ask him...

Thanks for this, I will make sure to do so :)

He says that he bought it at the factory in Havana (he was there, I know for sure), and that the stickers was put inside the box. Not sure if this can be true and/or explain why the 25 Siglo VI can be missing, if it is simply not due to the picture not showing.
