I couldn't wait to dive into the half-empty box of Monte #4's from the late sixties.

It was a great cigar. For some reason, I could taste an underlying flavor of waterchestnuts, which is strange because waterchestnuts are usually flavorless. My guess is that these peaked a few years ago and probably need to be smoked pretty fast.

I hope I'm up for the task....:blob:

I smoked two Party Shorts, one in the morning and one after lunch. I also smoked an SLR-A from '02 while playing nine holes of golf on a beautiful, crisp, late September Maryland afternoon.

I shot a 41 and was mighty pleased.

I had a MC#4 at lunch today from '03. What an incredible smoke! No wonder it's a top seller worldwide according to MRN. I wonder if it's still the #1 seller?

Smoked a custom Laguito Especial & Presidente!

GOOD smokes for the price. I'm glad I got extra bundles!!

Think of the tangy woody sweet Monte flavors mixed with Bolivar spice & citrus! Suprisingly good considering I usually don't prefer these profile items in their respective marcas.

The Laguito was better for my tastes. The A was too..., not mellow, but subdued, I think. The laguito was milder but richer. Terrific.
