They're legit (bought em myself from a retailer overseas). They were a tubo 3-fer.

I smoked 1 and cut this one and its brother (which I will check as soon as I'm home) for later smoking that I didn't get around to.

They have been in my humi, in the Tubos with cedar wraps for 7 months.

Took one out to smoke over the weekend and this very grainy stuff was on it!

Good, or is it the M-word...?

I hate to be a downer, but my first reaction is mold, but I could be very, very wrong. Some of the spots just look too large for plume. Try to brush it off. If it comes off easily without leaving a mark, it should be plume. If it doesn't come off cleanly, and leaves a stain, or mark, it's mold. Any spots in the foot? If so, you probably have mold. Mold is also fuzzy, plume is not. Some of those spots look a little fuzzy to me, but again, I could be very wrong.

Nothing on the foot at all. Brushing them off comes clean, no spots, no smear. I'm not convinced that means it's definitely not mold, but it is pretty grainy feeling (like crushed salt?). I'm going to try to get a shot with a macro lens so any fibers (moldy) would show. And will also see if the other one has anything on it.

So far, what you are saying, seems to be good news. Now I'm leaning toward plume.

Plume takes a VERY VERY VERY long time. Unless your cigars are at least 5-ish years old (one of the experts can give a better timeline )I would lean towards it not being plume. Doesn't mean it's mold, although, that would be my guess. Could be left over minerals etc. from non distilled water, just as an example.

Looks like mold but not a big deal. Just wipe it down and keep an eye on it. As long as it's not on the foot I wouldn't worry. If your really worried about contaminating other sticks then just smoke em now (soon).
