Currently smoking a just fantastic Don Carlos, and have noticed that like some of the lower-end Fuentes I've smoked, as well as an entire box of Diamond Crowns, there is a preponderance of glue around the band and even smeared here & there on the wrapper.

Have you noticed this? Is this a topic of discussion? It doesn't appear to interfere with the smoke or flavor (certainly not hindering this Don Carlos #2, my god what a smoke!). But it is curious to see a high-end stick with "glue issues."

Anyway, happy Sunday bros!

Most Opus and other top tier Fuentes I've had always have a heavily glued band, but I always attributed that to their using the foiled bands that don't curl as easily as normal paper bands. Only sucks for me when I want to nub one and take the band off to find I'm pulling off wrapper even through its warm.

Seems like every band Fuente puts on is coated in glue. Most of the time takes the wrapper with it.

Nothing like spending $20 on an Opus to have a quarter of the wrapper come off with the band

Yes -- trouble here is, with the torpedo shape the band is high enough and wide enough that after cutting it, you feel the edge of band on your mouth, so you can't wait to warm it up and get it off. So you smoke it faster too.

Mind you, the band is the ONLY complaint here.

Had my first Opus that the band was not glued to the wrapper. I saw the blot of the glue on the wrapper and thought it was gonna suck to get out off. Took a little finesse but came off clean

Always mad glue! burn right through the bands as I refuse to risk tearing the wrapper
Seriously? If I'm reading, and not paying attention, sometimes I take a puff and it tastes like crap. I immediately know that I didn't pull the band off in time and it's starting to burn. I couldn't imagine smoking through an entire one.

Probably why my experience with the same stick was so much better hahaha i took the bands off without any damage to the wrapper (lucky I know) I watched Mike smoke right through the bands
