So, I can't say a lot at the moment on this, but I'll give you what I can, and then you all can give what input you can...

1. Good friends of mine have decided to start their own cigar line
2. They have a blender that used to manage 2 large rolling facilities in Nic and has a long history of blending.
3. They have ordered a batch of Conn, Habano and Maduro in a few sizes each, lot of 30k sticks for initial go.
4. Eventually they plan on having 6 sizes of each.
5. Target is to be in the $6-9 per stick
6. Will be in 5 B/M in Ohio to start and possibly another 10 in Florida.

I will be getting more specifics of the blend from them soon and will share when I can.

I will be looking for about 10 members here that would be willing to try some of these if I send them to you and provide an honest review of them. The first batch should be in within a month or two, so nothing immediate.

Thoughts/concerns? I'll share everything w/ the guys doing this to help them out.

Tell your buddies I'm pulling for them... I'd be interested in smoking one or two when they do come out. I don't have a refined enough pallet to provide a good enough review, but put me on the buy list...

I think this is awesome! I'd be up for being a guinea pig as I'm sure a lot of other brothers would be. My only concern is them not coming to Texas, initially :rolling:

I don't think my palette is refined enough yet to be able to offer any kind of review that would help them further their development. But I did want to post simply to offer my encouragement and well wishes to the group.

Many years of success, gents!

I can run a review on them for you if you like. I think my palette has finally achieved a better level. As long as they arent HUGE ring gauges I am in.

Very excited for your friends, I think that is an incredible venture. I wish them all the luck. I would be happy to purchase a few if possible. While I judge beer regularly, I am still refining my cigar palate and don't think I would be able to do them justice in the review department.

I absolutely be in for a couple of reviews, especially the connie and maduro. I would say keep as many details a secret as you can, and let the cigars speak for themselves!

Sounds like a pretty awesome project, best of luck to your buddies! One of the things I love about being part of cigar forums like this is the close connection to those passionate about the industry, and in cases like this, those actually part of the industry!

Thanks guys. I'll give them your current feedback and encouragement, as well as willingness to help out when the time comes.

Once we (they) get the first batch in I'll select a few of you guys willing to taste and send out at that time. In the future, once they're finally for sale, I'll help anyone out that wants to try a 5'er or so since they won't be wide spread.

I hope everything is a success for them. I'm pulling for them. I'd be willing to buy some when they are released. Don't think I'd be a good reviewer because of my less than refined pallet.

I'm give them a try if you still need someone for input. I have been smoking 2 to 3 cigars a day for the past 6 years, probably 60% Nics.

May your friends find great success in their new endeavor.

Thanks again guys. I'll be talking to them this week and give them this feedback. Also let them know to hold a couple boxes for me to "spread around" to the troops here.
