"It is what it is." I've started to hate that phrase. 2014 seems to be the "It is what it is" year. It's a phrase I hear more than 5 times in one day. It's not "it is what it is" in my opinion it's what you allow it to be because you won't make a change. That's just me though. Using "it is what it is" just sounds like the laziest excuse to me ever.
Sometimes, yeah it can't be helped, but it's when it's within that individual's control and they throw that phrase out is what irritates me.

I should probably clarify - I wasn't talking to you specifically, I just know guys who do not prioritize their family and their kids are paying the price for their fathers' lack of involvement.
That being said, as an introvert, my kids are a huge blessing when it comes to getting out of awkward social situations!
