I know I haven't been on here much as of late...at least posting wise, but I do log on when I can to read stuff. But I still haven't found employment yet. It's been over a year since I lost my job and money is extremely tight. But I also have the urge to buy and try new sticks when I read about them....usually on here....plus I enjoy bombing the crap out of deserving people on here. With limited funds, I can't do either because I have to be able to replace what I send out and I have to be able to cover shipping and whatever I get goes to paying what bills I can.

I just want the guys here that I've gotten to know that I'm not ignoring the board or you guys. Seeing all the nice sticks and the BOTLs that need new mailboxes and not being about to do anything about it depresses me at times. But once I finally do find work and get back on my feet, there are a lot of people on here that are going to be put on notice. Until then, I'm sorry if I'm not participating on here like I used to but hoping eventually things will turn around and I'll be able to participate more.

Thanks for listening guys.

Don't know you yet, bro, but I sympathize. I spent over a year unemployed from 2008-2009. It was one of the lowest points of my life. I found a gig in a place I wasn't even looking for one and it turned out to be something I really enjoy. Just keep your head up and know that it will get better.

First off, hope you find work soon!
Don't let the limited funds hamper your involvement on BOTL though. It may not seem like it at times, but there's a lot more to this than "bombing". Yeah, it's great to share cigars, and it feels good to do so, but sharing your knowledge and experience lasts so much longer and makes a far greater impact. Sharing your time and bending an ear for a Brother who wants to talk is really what makes a difference. Don't ever feel like you're not welcome because you're not sending cigars to people. That's not the participation that people will remember in the long run, and that's not the participation that really matters!
Even the most experienced cigar smoker still has things to learn, and we're all here learning and growing together.

What a great post. Botl is NOT about bombing. EVP I remember you being a good dude. Stick around and do some cigar reviews. We need many more on here. Lmk if you need sticks to review.

Yeah dude hope that turns around for you sooner than later but step away from bombers basement and hang out elsewhere. As a community there's definitely other interest here cigar related, non cigar related and non bomb related lol. I'm stepping away from bombing to save some cash as well but still will hit the board. Hope to see you around

Thanks guys! I know BOTL isn't about bombing people....but it's something that I enjoyed doing to others just knowing it made them happy to come home to some new sticks. It's the urge to bomb a great BOTL though. But I'll start coming back around more and passing on what knowledge I do have like other did for me when I was a noob.

Yeah man... I was essentially jobless there for a while after Gradschool (the work I picked up paid less than what I was paying for my kid's daycare), and couldn't sling the bombs like I wanted to. Heck, I am still trying to get my finances back in order and now I have to go buy a bunch of crap for my new "big boy" job so I can present like I wasn't just playing house-dad for the last 6 months.

Clint and Jfire are spot on. BOTL is more than bombing. It's about getting to share a common interest with other guys. You can do that with bombs, but you can also do it by using your knowledge and experience to help guide newbies. You could do some eHerfing in chat (if anyone was ever in there), or you could toss up some reviews. Personally, I tried to stay engaged in the community by answering questions and generally being helpful through sharing knowledge.

At the same time, I am tired of looking at all the bombs flying around - sometimes it just looks like guys trying to make themselves look important by dishing out stuff - but as I am slowly getting my financial legs under me, I think I am going to try and build relationships the old-fashioned way: Face to face. That said, it looks like I will be headed to New York a few times this summer for my new job. Whaddya say we meet up? I'll bring the smokes, you bring the conversation.

Dude, seriously, I fully understand where you are coming from. Bombs are a very small portion of what this board is about, don't give up the greatness of this board for the very small part you can't participate in.

50-60 miles out? Like all the way out in the Hamptons?
