Over the week-end I bought a Padron in a nearby B&M's "liquidation bin"

Those were older cigars they no longer carry (don't sell enough I guess) that sell for about half their normal price. They looked great, so after some inspection I decided to try one. It was a Padron Churchill Maduro and I felt like trying it. It was awesome.

I believe the fact it had been in the store's humidor for a long while helped it. The conditions are good and it aged for a few years I guess, the cellophane was yellowed. Perfect draw, and would keep burning.

Is it normal for B&M to have clearance bins? Its the first time I see one, seemed odd to me at first. Should I worry when I see "clearance" in a cigar store?

I have seen exceptional finds in clearance bins and on back shelves. Sometimes they just need to move cigars. I always check out smaller shops when traveling. Never know what you might find. Nice find!

I remember a local shop once had the original release El Centurion old Pepin Robustos in their bargain bin for $4.00 a stick! Pretty tough to pass up!

One of the stores I frequent has a table that they sell 5ers for the price of 3 (usually only RP or AB), and the other does not have a bargain bin. I wish I knew one closer than an hour drive that has one.

Which shop has the "clearance" table? Maybe I can pull the same trick she uses on me... "But I got it on clearance honey!!"

Cigar Warehouse in Plano has a table with 5ers on it. Prensado, black market, etc. They have a CW on North Central Expressway in Dallas, too.

Whenever I walk into a new cigar store and they have a clearance bin, I'll sometimes find some Peterson's in there for about $4-$5 a stick. They were discontinued years ago after a disagreement between General Cigar and Peterson Tobacco on the marketing of the cigar. If you get a chance to pick some up, I highly recommend you do so. They are incredible sticks!

Wish my local had a discount bin. Haven't been there much since the weather got warmer, but theres not much there for under $10. I still buy, because they have a nice lounge (even though theres not much air movement in the winter.) If they had a discount table or had discounts on boxes or fivers id probably spend a lot more money there

Tower Cigar has two bargain bins...One 6 bucks and one at 9...always great sticks, just lines or sizes that didn't move. I go through it regularly and always do pretty well because the stock changes often.

+1! I kinda dropped off from cigars a few years back and recently returned. I was going through bands I had saved and found a Peterson band and remembered that I really enjoyed that stick. A shame they aren't made anymore.

My local just posted that they now have a 5cent bin, buy one selected stick for regular price, grab one of equal or lesser value from the bin. Now I just have to wait for payday to see if it is anything worthwhile.
