I just had a bad cigar, meaning it did not have the aromas register I was hoping to find, but also it was unripe.
My mood has been dramatically affected. I feel very irritable and nervous.
It usually happens when I smoke something of low quality or simply something that I do not like. The relationship between me and the cigar breaks, in the first case I feel betrayed by the manufacturer, in the second case I feel betrayed by myself as I have not been able to predict I would not like the cigar.
Does something similar happen to you too?

Life is too short to smoke bad cigars and it's even shorter to get worked up over something like smoking a bad cigar. Pitch it, grab a different one and enjoy.

I don't smoke anything spectacular regularly, but I've suffered through a cheapie freebie while smoking with a friend... I will politely decline next time haha. Learned the huge gap between quality cigars and garbage.

Just let me specify that with 'low quality' cigar I mean inconsistent in production. The cigar that gave me the 'experience' was at about $13, not sure for you but that is not cheap to me for a regular ongoing release smoke.

pretty much this. although, it is a lot easier to keep that attitude if you actually have a stash. it hurts a lot more on a guy with 100 or less sticks than someone with a cooler or vino.

Haha no no, I smoke $5-7 cigars, at best! I imagine the one I was given was probably more expensive, but absolute junk. From a "smoke shop" that sells bulk cigarettes & scratch tickets.

But it's hard to turn down a friend who bought cigars specifically to smoke with you, knowing you enjoy cigard. I told him to keep them for himself & provided the next few (& pointed him to a decent B&M).

I agree with both comments. I dont smoke a cogar if it sucks, but I am lucky enough to have others to go to.

I have been disappointed by cigars. Sticks that got great reviews or that i had waited to get a hold of, only to not enjoy them. But I dont usually let it impact my mood.

I actually smoke for work and feel lucky for that. I did not mean the conversation to go on what each of us can afford, I meant to really understand if some of you see real changes in their mood when being deceived by a cigar, as I do experience that. This has nothing to do with Facebook btw :)

Sorry, didn't mean to discuss pricing.

I don't think it changes my mood, though it's always disappointing if that's what's you've been looking forward to all day. In the case where a friend gave me the cigar, it was still an enjoyable experience because of the company.

I still remember about 10 years ago when a friend gave me a few CCs after he acquired a box. I was looking forward to a great experience and 3 out of 5 of them were plugged. What a disapointment for a very expensive cigar. I had to run a draw poker in to smoke them.

Normally if a cigar is not to my taste, at first, I still cotinue to smoke it. Sometimes I have been glad I continued to the end. My mood isn't really affected unless it's real expensive.

I smoke cigars for pleasure and relaxation. If the stick I'm smoking is more frustrating for whatever reason than it is enjoyable, I throw it away no matter what it cost

Life's stressful enough, I don't need one of my favorite Hobbies adding to it

If it sucks, mu it and move one. Doesn't affect mood because even if I build up a great deal of anticipation for it and it sucks, I always have some cigars on hand that I know will not disappoint as a backup.

For me, smoking a bad one doesn't affect my mood. I just remind myself that I'm not working and I feel better. However, I have had my mood affect a good smoke. Threw a couple down out of being pissed. And not at the cigar.
