Like a lot of folks, I use biscuits, a big-ass nylabone, and the occasional Greenie to maintain good pooch dental health...but about every six months, I use a couple of different types of dental scalers to give him a proper cleaning.
See, the "play dead" command...or in Kroger's case, "bang"...actually comes in handy. I taught him from an early age to lay still for paw-dicures and teeth cleaning. Whenever we see him, the vet comments about how good his teeth look.
The only time his breath stinks is right after his twice-weekly salmon dinner...and after he's been cruising the litter box for "kitty rocca." :barf:
