Admittedly, I haven't kept up with much cigar news the last few months. Time to restock Faustos, but I'm coming up short all over the place.

These aren't being discontinued are they? I was always a little afraid that their price point was a little high and that the market might not sustain the line. Hopefully, just a little hiccup due to wrapper shortage or something similar. Anyone heard anything?

Thanks. There are a few other places out there with some in stock at/close to MSRP. I'm curious as to the longer term health of the line -- do I need to start hoarding.....or can I wait out the shortage...........too often at the end of life of a model, the supply line dries up with little warning

this post from the cigar deals thread got me thinking:

Anyone got a lead on Illusione Rothchildes cabs at a good price (under $175)? Seem to be scarce.

coming off the IPCPR, it could be that places were holding off ordering until they could hit the show up, score deals or whatever? i know the only time certain core items get low in my store (mostly bourbon), are if we are holding off to buy the "big deal", or if the pricing won't be right for another month, or something like that. i can only assume their is some incentivized buying for retailers at the show, most industries do it in some form.

Interesting....thank you....

Pricing factors and philosophies fascinate and frustrate me concurrently.....not just for cigars

There is a lot of validity to that statement. Cigar orders from retailers were down in the month or two leading up to the IPCPR. Shelves should be flush with product for the next few months as orders are already being shipped out and many new releases wont be ready till sept/oct/nov.

I did see Pete say on some YouTube interview when asked the question of if he had to, what line of his own would he give up. And he said Fausto, but not Avion. I thought that was interesting. Not sure exactly which video it was or what year, but I think it was a podcast or something with the guys from www.stogiereview.com

Exactly the kind of horrible rumor I'd feared, CM. I sure hope it doesn't come to pass, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I don't think it is a big money maker for them.
Pete did tell me that it was one of his favorite early-day cigars, so I'm hoping Fausto doesn't head for the chopping block. (Of course he only told me this after I'd already gushed about them, so.....I wouldn't say there was some 'customer-relations' going on, but I'm hopeful nonetheless)
