$80 is a fair tag for it, and it is supposed to be an old weller-stitzel barrel that they bought. also came out with rhetoric (same tag), and old blowhard (about $160 IIRC), which was a 26yr.

i have heard goos things and bad about barterhouse, but haven't yet gotten feedback from people whose palates i trust.

Doesn't whiskey have a peak age though? That once past a certain point, it actually loses quality? That is why a lot of people say Pappy 15 over the older ones... from what i understand. These barrels... might be subject to that as well, no?

My bottle sits for now (too many beers to drink before the winter). Interesting story though. Distilled at the new Bernheim, stored at Stitzel-Weller, bottled at Dickel. Also interesting is that these barrels were orphaned, which could suggest that they never made the first cut. The additional aging was an attempt to improve the spirit.

I bought the Barterhouse as it was recommend from a trust source.
