Partagas Shorts- Sick?

I am on my 2nd cab of partagas shorts, CKM OCT 05 and I had my third one tonight. This one, like the others, was somewhat harsh and lacked flavor. The aroma seemed to be right on, but this cab in no way smokes like the cab of Jun 05's I had from the same box code. I have heard of cigars going through sick phases, but I never expected it with partagas shorts, especially at one year of age. Is this possible or could I just have a bad batch of cigars? I allowed 4 months for the cigars to acclimize at 65% so this is not a concern. Any help would be appreciated.

Try again in 6 months and if they're not to your liking then trying again in 6 months and so on. They're probably just sick.

They must have gotten the flu from the PSD4's somewhere LOL.. I will be patient and wait, it has always paid off.

Being in a cab does slow down the process. Could be in transition. Same box code also will not ensure they smoke the same as well. Good advise given above as what to do.

I got my first box of Party shorts 4 years ago and they tasted blah. It was a gift by my brother who is based in Australia!! It had the 01 boxcode so I transferred them from the Cab into a humi and forgot about them. They are tasting pretty good now!! And I have to control myself not to smoke one after another.

patience is a virtue.

UF, sounds like you just need to search out another cab to smoke in the meantime! LOL. You are on your second cab and the first one was a June 05 code? Yeah, you need to keep two on hand at any one time, one to smoke, and one for (a little) age.

That was the last thing I needed to hear! I have sworn to only buy two boxes a month and I have already ordered 4 this month! lol

Interesting - Shorts are one of my regulars and have been for a long time. I have never had a Short go sick before, fresh or aged. I am just finishing a cab from the same box/factory code and they are superb. Ya just never know. . .:scratchhe

That is good to hear at least, maybe I had 3 bad cigars in a row and the rest will be great, maybe I truly wasn't in the mood for the short and was too critical of it. thanks for everyone's advice.
