I've never been a big fan of Glock's but have been hearing great things about this little .380. Thinking of picking one up for my wife ;). The price is right for sure. Does anyone have any experience good or bad with this handgun?

I was a glock armorer for years. They are pretty solid in all honesty. Haven't played with the new 380s, but they aren't really new to the 380 cartridge. They just had to move manufacturing to Smyrna due to federal importation laws around "Saturday night specials"...

I shot one at shot show. It's a tiny Glock, but for the size there are way better options out there both in terms of caliber and mag capacity.

I'm inclined to agree just based on specs alone and no trigger time. They were a day late and a dollar short in a market saturated in pocket guns.

If you could get a chance to shoot one to see if she likes it, that would be key. I know my local gun shop has a range that rents some hand guns out. Also, my wife shot my Walther ppks .380 and my 1911 . 45. She like the .45 because the gun was some large and heavy it was easier to manage.

my wife also prefers to shoot my 1911 colt to her 9mm, and some of my other guns, for the same reasons.

Yup, Kandace got a 1911 as well, but hers is in 9mm. She still hasn't decided for sure on if she wants to carry or not, but then we'll be shopping for something smaller/lighter.
Is Beth looking to carry? If so, I've got an XD, an XDs and a Sig P9 she can try out if you guys want to go shooting and get some hands-on with different models...

We might have to do that. Not planning on carrying, just something for her to shoot and have in the safe to be famliar with.

Easier to manage at the range, but not for daily carry :p I love my 1911, but carrying it IWB is miserable compared to all the compacts.
I carried my full size, all stainless steel 10mm 1911 for a few months, just to see if I could. My XDs feels almost invisible compared to that hog!

Yeah, don't go small. She won't enjoy shooting it. Full frame 9mm is likely going to be the sweet spot. Let's get her out with a dozen handguns to try and compare and let her decide. Now if the price is right on that Glock, pick it up just to play with, but don't make the purchase decision for her on HER gun. Good luck buddy! Let's try to get out shooting yet this fall, okay?!

The first handgun I owned is a 1911 Colt Combat Commander, so of course I wore it. Then I used a friends Glock 45... The Colt now spends most of it's time in a bed side safe lol.

I shoot my compacts every time at the range, but only to stay proficient. Otherwise it's the 1911 & some fun revolvers (not as "cool" to most). Hoping I never have to worry about the kick in a real-world situation, & only have to deal with it while plinking!

Let's go. I'm a member at the Isanti county Sportsmans Club, it's like 10 minutes from my house. We have some AR's to break in still right?;)

I love glocks... they have been my primary sidearm consistently since the late 90's.. with the exception of about a 2 year period where the agency I worked with issued sigs... I'm a glock armorer.. have shot one competitively.. and carried them both "professionally" and for CCW....

All that said.. I wouldnt recommend purchasing this weapon for my wife...

friends dont let friends carry mouse guns as a primary....

I've owned several different .22, .25, .32, and .380 pocket rockets over the years.. they absolutely serve a purpose... and can be highly effective as a deep cover weapon, a BUG, etc....

but should NEVER be considered for daily carry as a primary IMO...

if its a matter of size/weight.. there are plenty of other full caliber options out there with similar dimensions and heft.. if its a matter of recoil/noise.. you fix that problem with training and experience.. not by stepping down your ballistics.. etc..etc..
