Hey guys, I'm new here, but not new to cigars per say. However, you learn something everyday. Currently I have heartfelt beads in two desktops. I have noticed a slight smell, and figure it is time to replace them. I have read a couple of threads on here about kitty litter (noticed KL is the preferred abbreviation, it is also too short to search) for coolers. Will it work in a desktop that gets opened several times a week?

I use a combination of kitty litter and Boveda packs in my two desktops. They work well together and the kitty litter helps the humidity to recover faster. I keep the kitty litter in coffins to help conserve space.

Yep....I use KL for almost every size humidor I have and even with my smaller humidors. The one thing about a small desktop is the storage availability and I stopped using anything less than a 50 count as it's much easier to fit KL in an open small ziploc...the ones that are half the size of the sandwich bags. I use Bovedas as well and between each media you're guaranteed a great RH.

Guess I should have been more clear. One is a 100 ct and the other is 50. I'll pick some KL up today and give it a shot. It will be later this month before I can get to the B&M to pick up a couple Boveda packs. Thanks for the replies.
