Good Evening BOTL,

Im having a serious problem in my house with my humi, i live in Miami, Florida a place called Coconut Grove, some APT buildings are very old and they dont have CENTRAL A/C, we have wall units. we turn off the wall unit when we go to work. Temperature here goes up to the 99F, inside my house it doesnt feel that hot. I have a 100ct humi, with 4 72hr boveda packs in a boveda cedar holder with the XIKAR PuroTemp™ Digital Hygrometers.

Now my problem is the temperature inside the humidor, my hygrometer measures a 80F and a 65 to 67% HR outside my room where there is no AC. so i took my humidor inside my room where the wall unit is, and we turn it of and on so the temp inside the room varies. I have found 3 cigars with the wrapper are cracked.

What can i do to fix this, fix the temp issue.. Should i leave my humidor outside my room where the temp doesnt change, but will be at 80F or leave inside the room where the temp varies.

This little grasshopper needs all the help from his sansei's!!!Photo Aug 12, 11 17 16 PM.jpg

Definitely need to get under that temp, pref sub 70. Mine are in my basement at 65ish.

Might need to look at wineadors for a temp control brother

That's about as easy as it comes! ^^^
Watch deals on THERMOELECTRIC wine coolers and build a wineador, or spring for a fully-equipped unit from air-and-water.com. No muss, no fuss. There's always sales & coupon codes abound!

Not a problem! If you decide to go that route, just let us know. A LOT of people here are well versed in the wineador, so you've got a great experience pool to pull from. You could spend a week just looking through everyone else's builds on here, trying to figure out exactly what you want to do. Good luck!

I'm having that issue with my winedor, no ac here either so my house gets up to 88 inside. The winedor has to work harder to keep cool so it's throwing off my rh. I had to use tupperware instead of the shelves and drawers with bovedas. Maybe you'll have better luck then me.

Did you have KL or beads in it?

If youre just looking for storage equal to your 100 count... you can do a small winecooler for almost nothing...

here's a thermoelectric unit on craigslist for $35 in your area..

if you want to stay cheap... swing by a B&M and pick up 3 or 4 boxes to use for storage inside the cooler...

if you want to make it slightly nicer.. order a couple of the $10.99 trays you can get on ebay or at cheaphumidors.com and youre done for barely $50...

For someone with your temp swings, a thermoelectric cooler isn't going to be able to keep up, and if it does, it'll cause a lot of condensation.

I'd look into setting up a freezador. A manual defrost freezer with an electronic temp controller.

KL and a 300 count Cigar Oasis system with boveda packs inside, still cant get it close to 65%.

Couldn't you leave the AC on- at least at a reasonable temperature? If not I would also suggest wineador, but don't think it will even keep up with 99 degrees and humid...
Hoshy- how hot does it get in your house where it's OK?
