Real aficionados follow their palate, not what other people are doing. Both the RASS and CoRo are stellar cigars in their own right, and it will be up to individual palates to determine which is "better."

I meant that every time I go to a cigar shop, the employee there always has to mention that some of their regular customers are taking boxes and boxes of Ramon. I don't usually sit on my cigars. I tend to smoke them within the same week of buying. I guess that's a problem I have. I don't have a proper humidor.

a lot of people consider cohiba to need years to reach their potential, and the RASS seems (to many) ready to go ROTT. couple that with the significant price differential, and it is easy to see why your local os selling piles of RASS to each CoRo...

I agree some days I'm in the mood for a RASS others it's the CoRo. I do think the CoRo needs age before it's as good.
RASS is good right out of the box for a period of time and then goes through a horrible sick period. The coro is notorious for needing a lot of time. They are interesting young but really flourish with age.
Both have different profiles and tastes. If I made an assumption it would be that shops are pushing RASS because they cant get or cant sell (due to price) the cohiba.

I prefer the allones profile fresh, but an aged coro is pretty damn tasty. If your local doesn't have aged stock and you are smoking same week then I'd agree with your B&M.
Saying "aficionados prefer..." is a sales pitch. That guy probably prefers them, but if you went to another B&M you would likely get different suggestions. I have yet to meet a RASS I didn't like, and I've had Cohiba that I really just didn't care for all that much, but it's entirely personal and YMMV. Buy one of each and see what you think.

It may be that they just do not suit your palate. RA is one of the few production sticks that I do not like and I have tried all of the RA line, young and well aged. However, some of their LE and RE stuff has been quite excellent; e.g. -- the original Eminencia release.
