Nice thread, herfdog! Congrats on selling your house and buying a new one.

My wife and I had a lot to celebrate in January 2013. We bought a house, celebrated my brother-in-law's wedding, and found out we were pregnant. That all happened within a couple days. I celebrated with a Don Carlos No. 2 gifted to me by a friend of the groom.

Like many here, I wanted to buy a box of cigars to celebrate the birth of my son. Well, I didn't buy a box at his birth but I did buy a box before his first birthday. I will be smoking one around each of his birthdays and sharing a 18 year old cigar with him when he turns 18. The leftover cigars will be saved for his wedding day.

I chose a box of EP Carrillo Short Run 2013. I like that the band has 2013 printed on it and I love Sumatran wrappers. The first cigar will be smoked in a couple weeks for his first birthday!

Have a great Friday, brothers.

Thanks Oside!

(And thanks ChefBoy too... hadn't mentionned it earlier)

I like the idea of buying kids a box of cigar when they are born. Whish I had tought of it. Its a few years late now.

On another note, my humidor was my first father's day present. :)

Very cool Father's day gift! On another, another note I just listened to a podcast that talked about purchasing a Vintage Port of your kids birth year. It takes 21 years for Vintage Ports to be ready....

I'm getting married next June and I've been going back and forth on what cigar to smoke to celebrate. I plan on buying a box within the next two months so I can age it just a little bit. I won't be smoking at the wedding (I don't want to be away from my new bride or guests for a long time) but I was hoping that I could have one before, during or after the rehearsal dinner. I was going to get a box of CC's but a) couldn't decide which one and b) preferred something in a tubo. With that being said, I'm 95% sure that I want the Davidoff Special R to be my last cigar before I get hitched. It's classy, sexy, elegant just like my future wife.

I've been waiting a while for you to try it too!!!
So far I really like it. Pairs better with cognac than coffee. I'm starting its second third and really enjoy it. I understand why everyone here seem to like them. Will have to get more ;)

Very good cigar. Was worth waiting for a good time to enjoy it.
The flavour évolution trough the whole stick is awesome and both the burn and draw are perfect. I mentionned it before but I see what the fuss on Tatuaje is all about. I'll certainly be looking to get more.

no pictures, but I signed the paperwork to acquiring a new house this week.

So I got myself an CAO MX2 belicoso.
That cigar is great! (but the retrohale burns the sinuses)

as I said, didn't take pictures, but for those who haven't seen them, here's what they look like

I might get myself an Opus X to celebrate further more, once all is unpacked.

Thats a neat smoke! I really like the packaging on it! I really like d e non infused cigars for special occasions. There all amazing. I have a wedding comming up and someones hiting me with a single stick maw I've been looking to get my hands on for about 10 years now. Im pretty excited! Lately for me, every stick is a celebration. Life is beautiful and amazing but yet so fragile. We never know what tomorrows is going to bring Its so easy to get sidetracked in the everyday rat race and forget about enjoying it
