Hey guys, I'm getting married next year and am trying to think of some unique gift ideas for my groomsmen. I don't want to get something like a flask; something that will actually be used (who carries a flask with them these days?). I don't want it to be too focused on cigars either. While I enjoy them, not everyone in my wedding party does. However, I did buy them all one of these. I thought it was kinda cool and would come in handy for the ones that do smoke cigars and drink beer. Anyway, I'm at a loss for what else to get. I prefer something that is handmade and, at the very least, not made in China. Engravable is a plus too. Thoughts???

Yep, a nice knife is always a great idea. I was a groomsmen for Clint (cgraunke) last year and he gave us a great SOG knife that I carry every day. You can PM him for the details on it.

I got married last year coming on my one year.. I got empty cigar boxes and put small Johnny black inside, I also bought invicta watches great watches for a great price..

Esp. If you check invictasundayrun.com that's through invicta themselves you can save loads just have your family place orders for you if you need more than the max because once the deal goes it goes

And I bought them knives as well

And they all got 64 padrons lol

And put them in the box with that white confetti stuff and boom done

Now for the best man I also got him a bottle of bowmore 18 year just as a separation to say thanks

Damn son, you went all out! I was thinking of getting a knife but wasn't 100% sold on the idea but I didn't rule it out. I have a little less than a year but I wanted to get my thoughts rolling now. I'll spend a little more on the best man (my brother) but we don't share any of the same interests so that'll be a tough one.

I did all my "planning" from Iraq (a hell of a way to get out of endless trips to potential wedding locations!)
I too had a hard time deciding what to get my groomsmen; trying to find something practical, that they'll all use, & that will last is so no small feat.

I ended up getting them all nice Gerber multi-tools (I'm partial to Gerber over Leatherman) & leather cases custom made. The cases were pretty simple, nothing gaudy, but had initials & good craftsmanship... I'd say they were successful gifts, as they are always carrying them on their belts when I see them, & have been thanked for them a bit.

And I resent that flask comment! Haha... I don't drink beer (yes, I turned in my "man card" ), but enjoy liquor. Seems like lots of "open bars" are now just beer & wine... So a flask prevents me from hemorrhaging money while everyone else drinks for free!

Get them all tattoos of your name and wedding date something they will always have with them. Lol.

Knives are a great idea that's the path I took also along with a nice lighter engraved with their name and the date.

Lots of great ideas, especially laser guided missiles. Unfortunately, those might be tough to get a hold of. If I went the knife route, what would you recommend?

The max I would spend is $150. My comfort zone is $100-$120. I'm about an hour away from NYC. I highly doubt they would carry a knife on them. It would be more of one of those things they leave in the drawer and use it, if at all, when they need it. That's one of the reasons why I'm thinking of not getting them one.

I did vintage zippos with everyone's name engraved on then. My brother in law found some hand made leather dopp kits and had everyone initials embrodered on them. Both seemed to go over really well. The dopp kits are sick! I love mine.
